9/10Fun place. Great place to people watch. The pork dinner was the best. Great service. We were glad that the weather was a little cooler because of the storm and super pleasant when the rain stopped.

10/10Our waiter and the homemade food made our visit for lunch on a very hot day memorable. The waiter was super friendly, kind, and offered us suggestions. And the food was absolutely delicious!! It's a very small ristorante, but highly recommend.

10/10Sottosotto was a great find. Eugene was our server and he made our experience even better. The food was amazing and my husband said his gnocchi was one of the best he’s ever had. I had the pork dish and it was absolutely delicious. The complimentary Prosecco at the beginning made you feel special. Our service was impeccable and I would highly recommend this place. Remember you’re in Italy so there no rush to getting anything

10/10Staff reached out twice in the days leading up to our visit to update us regarding local weather (since seating was Al fresco). We were seated immediately upon our arrival and received very good service. Our group of six had appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts and all were excellent.

10/10Excellent food and service, stunning location - what’s not to like Booked this based on reviews. We had one night in Lucca and we wanted something special, SottoSotto did not disappoint. Impeccable service, nice and relaxed, friendly and very knowledgeable. Food was outstanding making for a very memorable meal.

10/10Fabulous food and being a coeliac they were very aware of allergies and pointed me to what I could eat. Waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. Defs would recommend. Best meal so far in both France and Italy

10/10We made a lunch reservation through TheFork. We were greeted upon arrival and shown to our table, which faced the piazza. It was a sunny day and the atmosphere was perfect. Our food was delicious (including fresh bruscetta, pasta and tiramisu), service was great (by Italian standards), and we could not have asked for a better meal or experience. Highly recommend!

9.5/10We had a wonderful evening at SottoSotto with our team, seated outside in the lovey atmosphere of Piazza dell’Anfiteatro in Lucca. The personal, friendly service was outstanding, including our pre-dinner menu planning. Authentic, flavorful Tuscan food was promised - and delivered! I can easily recommend dining at SottoSotto if traveling to Lucca.

10/10The restaurant is I. One of the piazzas in Lucca. It is small but has very good food. We enjoyed many appetizers and other courses. Our server, Eugene, was wonderful. This is an exceptional place to dine

10/10Our meal was delightful. Really good food. Although the wine list is not extensive we did get a good local red at a reasonable price. The location is quite special. The young waiting team were very friendly and helpful, a big thank you to them both. Would certainly recommend booking in advance as they were having to turn many people away.

10/10A lovely little restaurant in the stunning setting of the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro in Lucca old town. We received a warm reception when we arrived and when we asked for a change of allocated table our wish was granted without question. The food was delicious and well presented and the ambience on a warm sunny September day with a live acoustic duo playing easy listening instrumentals in the background was simply amazing! We'll be back!

10/10This restaurant is set in the Piazza dell’ Anfiteatro, the most buzzing part of Lucca, so there’s a great atmosphere. When we arrived they immediately recognised our name and we were offered a choice of two tables they had reserved for us. We were offered complimentary Prosecco, a nice touch. We ordered a course each from the Secondi menu, sea bass on courgettes and pork neck on caramelised balsamic onions. Both were excellent but the pork was particularly amazing. Then traditional tiramisu, which is harder to find than you’d think, was superb as was the semi freddo. Then we were offered complimentary limoncello. The service could not be beaten, both waiters spoke perfect English so no confusion when ordering. So friendly and attentive. We’ll return if we get the time.

10/10Highly recommended! Inside the Piazza Anfiteatro with the nicest view of this place in Lucca. All the food is great (bread, gnocchi, risotto, salads, desert, etc) The staff is very friendly, Limoncello glass at the end

10/10We had an absolutely amazing lunch at Sottosotto. We only had one day in Lucca and therefore limited time, but the very friendly and serviceminded waiter made sure that there was time for both antipasto, main serving and even dessert. We highly recommend to try the restaurants specials. Especially the risotto ‘frutti de mare’ and the pork shoulder. (Better in real life than the pictures!) Overall a 10/10 experience :-) thank you, Sottosotto!

10/10This place is fabulous! The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all excellent. They care about what they’re doing and it shows. The food is prepared with skill and quality ingredients. The service is kind and attentive. Sitting out in the on the Piazza Dell’Ampiteatro couldn’t be more charming. A favorite in beautiful Lucca!
