A friendly, family place with wonderful food to spend Christmas Day evening

The lighting was very bright. But that's normal in Portugal. I can't get used to it. 😊 Otherwise, everything was fine. The food was tasty and the service was friendly.

Upon arrival we greeted and offered a.choice of tables. Wines were very good as were appetizers and main courses however the filet on hot rock was fantastic. Service impeccable. A definite must visit on your next visit to Portimão. Too many below average tourist traps in this town. Squash stands head and shoulders above the “average tourist eatery”

Professional and friendly service. Wide choice of excellent dishes, although the tiramisu was disappointing ... too much cream, not enough sponge, not enough coffee flavour, not enough alcohol. The octopus was the most tender I have ever eaten.

This was without question the best meal in the best restaurant we have been in, in the week that we have been in Portugal. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was wonderful. Both my wife and I had filet on a stone- you were served raw filet, which you cooked on the hot stone. We are from Alberta cattle country but have never experienced anything like this before. It was amazing. My wife loves Sauvignon Blanc, so we had one from a local Algarve winery. Most of the Sauv Blanc's that my wife likes are from New Zealand, but this wine was every bit as good, and certainly met with my wife's approval. I wish we were going to be here longer as we definitely would be back.

A bit tricky to find the restaurant but once there we had a wonderful meal and very reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and helpful!

+3I having nothing but positive things to say about Squash the! the food is wonderful and so fresh, we were presented with the catch of the day tray, so fresh that some of the catch was still moving! We of course had the fish platter for 2 which I shared with my Son and added the goose barnacles which Ive never had but wanted to try, the waitstaff was so kind and showed us how to eat them. They were amazing. My daughter had the black spaghetti which she adored, I tried that also, it was delicious, and my husband had the steak. from the beginning to the end the food, the Service and the location ( a hidden gem a bit off the Main strip) summed up to be a perfect last night in Portimao for our Family! Thank you Squash!, we will be back!

We had a wonderful family meal in Squash. The food was delicious and the service was lovely. This is a great restaurant! The staff are kind and attentive. Our thanks to the wonderful team at Squash! You made our night memorable. Looking forward to returning on our next trip to the Algarve.

Excellent birthday dinner for my husband. Staff were exceptional. Being shown and explained the days catch was such a great touch and really informative. We had a special complimentary welcome drink to celebrate my husband’s birthday - I had let them know in advance. We had complimentary starter that was so fresh and delicious. The barnacles were delicious and really unusual, so thank you for showing us something different! We had such a wonderful evening, the ambience is perfect, the food delicious and the staff so hospitable and friendly. 10/10 best restaurant experience we’ve had in a long time. Well done !

Excellent local cuisine, reasonably priced and excellent service. We had a cataplana and a friend had Portuguese style steak. Excellent quality, quantity and presentation. Don’t be put off by the approach through what looks like a building site. Well worth a visit!

We had a lovely evening. It was my wife's birthday and the staff surprised us with a cake and sung Happy Birthday. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for its high quality food and service.

What a great find. Hidden amongst residential apartment blocks in PDR. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Service was faultless. Food was really good. Can highly recommend this great restaurant. A revisit is already booked.

We found this gem on Trip Advisor and it did not disappoint! My husband ordered the Sea Bass and I had the grilled Octopus-both perfectly prepared. My boys had the spaghetti with meat sauce and they said it was tasty. We ordered dessert and the strawberry ice cream was homemade and delicious. They definitely cater to the tourists but service was attentive and the price is reasonable based on the quality. We would go back again if we were spending another night in Portimão!

Squash Restaurante was a fabulous dining experience. The food, ambience and service was delightful. The black spaghetti with clams and shrimp was unique and tasty. It is an unassuming part of town and the ambience was unexpectedly charming.
