First time here and it was nice but waited over an hour for our main course. It was very loud in the restaurant so it was hard to hear but that’s not the restaurants fault.

The food was excellent and the portions incredibly generous. The personnel is so friendly. The restaurant is cozy. One of the best - if not the best - food experience we had so far in our trip to The Netherlands!

We are regular - and until now very happy -clients The food is always very good and tasty and the atmosphere is warm. However, this time we were disappointed by the hygiene standards. The floor was sticky and there was a mouse running between the tables when it was no longer very full. We hope that this is a problem that will be solved quickly.

We had the Surakarta Rijstaffel for 2. We did not finish the meal as it was just too much food! The waitress packed our leftover without any extra charge. We also appreciated the hot water refill on our ginger tea! The foods are great, and quite authentic Javanese. It is a bit on the sweeter side, but that is just how Javanese Indonesian food is! During our stay they had to turn away a couple of groups simply because they were really full at 6pm! So definitely get a reservation before coming.

Food was okay. Some of the meats felt a bit hard and tasted like they had been stewing for a long time. Made the mistake of paying 6 euro for the water at the table, and when asked for regular water, we were given another bottle of the expensive water.

We ordered two different kinds of Rice menus offering a combination of different Indonesian dishes. All were excellent and showing a wide range of flavours. Very recommendable. Also, the staff was very friendly.

Nice place with pleasant atmosphere good food, tasty and quite typical Indonesian :-) Reasonable prices and plenty in quantity. Overall good experience. As coming from France it s always very surprising how early (21h30?) the “kitchen close” in dutch restaurant ... be aware, don t wait for the end of the meal to order dessert.

My go-to restaurant for Indonesian food in Leiden - the food is delicious, and the service is great! Especially good when I have vegetarian guests visiting, as the vegetarian rijsttafel is really varied and tasty. Thank you!

Fantastic place, warm atmosphere, excellent cuisine, and kind staff. I had nasi goreng Java which was very nice and quite hot. Among the starters, soups are great.

Very happy to be back in Surakarta! The large Rijstafels are always delicious and plentiful. The noise level was fine, despite the place being full on a Wednesday evening. Looking forward to coming again!

Delicious food with international visitors - all well explained in both Dutch and English. No distractingly loud music so could still chat nicely despite the restaurant being full. Unhurried feel even though we dined on Saturday evening primetime. Couldn't have been happier!

I really enjoyed the food ! Unfortunately my booking was "kind of lost" and I had to wait 5min to get a table.

Delicious food. We had the rice table Kecil, which had 12 different dishes. Generous portion sizes - we couldn't manage it all! Service was prompt and courteous.

One of the best choices in Leiden. Food is excellent and portions are big. The rice table is a fun way to sample many tasty dishes. Service is efficient and friendly by Dutch standards and their delivery service is also fantastic for a meal at home.

Third time I have been here now, and can safely say it's my favourite place to eat in Leiden! Price to quality rapport is very good, considering the very generous portions and good price of drinks. Perfect place for lovers of spicy food, but enough variety in their menu for those that don't!
