We thought the food was just ok. We had the one of the Chef’s menu options. Some of the dishes and many were just ok. I wouldn’t go back.

If you want taste real sushi, I certainly recommend to be here. Morikawa chef really knows a timing of each fish to serve you. His aged fishes are really amazing for us as Japanese. Thanks a lot!

Best Sushi in the world ☺️

A truly Japanse experience; there are many sushi restaurants in The Hague but only one Morikawa. Very fine Japanese dining.

It’s a beautiful serene little restaurant. And undoubtedly the best sushi in The Hague. The setup. 1 sushi chef (who’s been making sushi in Japan since 1996) and a waitress. When I went there’s was only 1 couple dining besides myself. So it was a bit too quiet for my liking. I suspect they keep the reservations low and manageable. The food was prepared with an abundance of care and love and you could taste that in every bite. Food was beautiful and delicious. The sake I ordered was lovely. My only complain is for the large bottle of “Spa rood” I ordered, I was charged 11.50 on the check and I’ve never paid a price like that. Usually it’s 6-8. But that’s not enough to keep me away from what is assuredly one of the most thoughtful and delicious dining experiences to be had in The Hague.

The quality of the food is just not there. It’s hard for me to describe but most of the fishes had no flavor. The sushi rice is also not flavored right, yes it is flavored with vinegar and any true sushi master in Japan would tell you that the most difficult part of making a nigiri sushi is the rice. The size of the rice is also too big. Since the place comes across as a very authentic Japanese sushi place, I judge based on that standard. To put things in perspective, I lived in Japanese for many years, speak Japanese, and still visit the country twice a year.

A lovely neighbourhood place with excellent food. We had the Chef’s menu which I can thoroughly recommend. We had a very pleasant evening at Sushi Morikawa.

We have been going here for about seven years. This place is reliably lovely. We usually ask for the Izumi (for big appetites) or slightly smaller Arima multi-course chef special together with some cold sake, and this is consistently great. Their service is always kind and respectful to the guests. The setting is elegant in a subtle, understated way without pretension. I only wish I could give 11/10 to show how this quiet place stands above so many others. If you haven't been yet, you owe it to yourself to visit. Make a reservation to save your place. Go, and enjoy yourself.

Authentic Japanese cruisine, nice sushi and all. Always go for the chef's menu. Ehile it looks like a bit lexpensive but it will definitely worth the money!
