9/10The clams and the grill shrimp and octopus was excellent. Even though the restaurant was packed for lunch, the food came out of the kitchen quickly. The service staff coordinated well to stage the dishes for a good sequence to enjoy each dish.

9/10We were made to feel very welcome at this waterfront restaurant run by a young and efficient staff. The seafood dishes were excellent - especially the prawns and octopus and octopus pica pau - and the tuna steak. Being in the "home of octopus" on the Algarve, it makes sense not to go for meat dishes, but the diners who had the lamb chops said they were very tasty. Portions are good and the puddings were also home-made and delicious. There's a small outside patio and a rooftop bar for those sunset evenings. We loved it and will definitely be back.

10/10Lovely setting; very pretty, well cared for restaurant - food was perfect - each dish. Wine list very nice and large selection of cocktails. People were friendly (which is something we have not always experienced in the area) -just a lovely place with lovely people.

The dishes were consistently delicious, and the service was attentive and professional – you can tell the staff is experienced. Considering the quality, the prices are more than fair. A clear recommendation for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

10/10Really nice interior - on a warm sunny day we sat in the courtyard, but the top terrace looks good too. Friendly helpful staff, and interesting menu. Fish soup rated excellent by my partner, though he was a bit disappointed that the octopus rice wasn’t oven roasted so we chose the octopus and shrimp instead, which was fine, if a bit underwhelming. As ever in this part of the Algarve, prices were great value. Would recommend.

10/10Taberna Amaro is definitely one of the restaurants you want to put on your list in Santa Luzia! … My wife and I had a wonderful evening last night, with a beautiful bottle of full body red. David, the manager, was extremely nice and engaging, making sure we had our own space while making sure the food was impeccable. Which it was!!

9.5/10Innovative Portuguese cuisine. The fish soup and octopus pica pau are a must try! Service was very good. They made me a special hot sauce for my oysters and it was delicious! Highly recommend visiting this establishment!

10/10We've dined at Taberna Amaro 6 times since they opened in September. We take all our friends there! Bruno Amaro has a gem of a place - great menu, terrific chef, wonderful staff, perfect location on the waterfront in Santa Luzia.
