Excellent food. Really interesting tapas. Loved the gyosas, patatas braves and octopus. Lovely service, beautiful sitting out watching the sun set. Table was unsteady but otherwise a lovely evening

Confusing menu. Disappointing, overpriced, and very small portions. Refused an extra pitta bread with one of the dishes, and advised to order toast bread instead. Steak served in its own sauce, with chimichurri sauce as well (a strange combination!).

overall very nice venue and interesting food. We enjoyed everything, although the teaspoon (literally) of hummus was a definite disappointment. Both meat and tuna bolo de caco were delicious.

The quality of the food. Using the Portuguese petiscos approach, you can taste several different types of food. Small portions, but with gre quality. In summer time, an extra for sure having the beach just across the street.

Food was great, but extremely slow. Service was good and attentive. Portions are very well served and products are fresh, so price is justifiable. It is a tapas / sharing place, so consider to order 3-5 plates for a couple. The decoration is nice, but there's nothing romantic about it nor is there ambience. In other words, great for a normal dinner or after a day at the beach; but not for a date night out. Star dish of the night: Tom Yummi, closest to real tom yum I've tasted in Portugal Not far behind: meat bao, sumptious melting meat and great sauce with a coleslaw (questionable mix that went really well together) Disappointing: tacos - plain, taco tasted stale and too crunchy (like cardboard) We had no desserts, so can't comment about it. All in all, we look forward to our next visit! Thank you for receiving us

Good location by the sea and nice set up of the room, mixing wood, metal and glass. The concept is food sharing: they recommend 3 to 5 dishes (their names are incredibly funny) for a couple, which we experienced. The cuisine is very creative while remaining traditional in its taste and reasonably priced when enjoying a discount. Good choice of wines.

One of the best gems in the area! We love this restaurant. The food is delicious and varied which we prefer but most importantly the staff is amazing. Maria is always so kind, welcoming and just overall a joy to be around. We look forward to many many returns.

We frequently eat at Caldas co owned restaurants. So I was shocked Marginal sold Pepsi instead of Coca-Cola. I'm a coke addict so this was a,disappointment. The food was good.

We ordered 3 dishes and 2 others to come later. The first 2 dishes arrived promptly but the third didn't arrive for another 45 minutes. The final 2 dishes (fake pizzas) were uncooked because the pizza dough was raw. The waiter implied that it was our fault for not saying that we weren't sharing all 3 of the main dishes and offered no real apology for the uncooked pizzas.

Super tasty, fresh and different. Maybe you're tired of typical Portuguese restaurant meals too - you know - everything is served with salad and chips! Marginal Tavern provides a refreshing alternative offering flavours and foods from the world over, but in tapas styled portions. We shared the ceviche, then the prawn soup, the bao buns, and the duck. Everything was divine - and the staff were lovely and attentive.
