Our meal was a variable experience; some was tasty however much of our order was not brought to the table or incorrect dishes given and then staff gaslighting us saying we had asked for those dishes. We asked for the dishes which we had chosen from the menu to be given to us One arrived the other did not. The chicken was raw and we sent it back to be cooked more. We were not asked once if our meal was ok, no one apologised for the endless errors. the staff were too busy looking at their telephones to care. When I went to pay and asked for the dishes with we did not receive to be deducted from our bill we were first told that we were given it and then asked why we didn’t tell someone !🤷‍♀️. They then proceeded to discuss me in Arabic negatively. I speak Arabic and told them in Arabic that their behaviour was shameful . The staff Sat at a table chatting and texting on their phones as per the photo. Rude service and variable standard of food prep.

The restaurant is located next one of the beautiful old gates of Leiden. The ambiance is nice and the staff is very friendly. We learned that Tanoor in Syrian is a small clay oven -- compare with the Indian Tandoor, same etymology. We much appreciated the mixed starters and the grilled prawns. We will be glad to come back!

We were really lucky that we were the only guests that evening. It felt really special, like the restaurant was reserved specially for us. That meant that we got the full attention and dedication of the chef and the hostess, which is an absolute gift. Their dishes are sublime. We had both the mixed warm appetisers and the mixed grill. And to top it off, the homemade pistachio ice cream was amazing. 10/10

Tanoor is located at the very end of the old city of Leyde, so pretty much outside the crowded tourist area; and it's quite good so! We were hosted in a very friendly way ; the food was extremely tasty and even the most hungry guests could not empty their plate.

My husband took me out for dinner at Tanoor. The food was tasty and served quickly. Quantities were good enough but the place is a bit pricey for quantities you're getting. Nonetheless we left with feeling full and satisfied. The place does tend to upsell.

We were so happy that we found this restaurant in Leiden. The food tastes authentic and delicious, the service is excellent and the prices honest. Even though they were full, we didn't wait for long to receive the orders. The atmosphere was homely and a bit chaotic, but not too much, just as one would expect. We will surely come back!

We had a really lovely meal. Excellent flavours, perfectly cooked, and generous portions. Staff were very helpful and friendly (and spoke great English too). We were seated outside in their large (by Leiden standards!) terrace. Great all-round experience. Thanks guys. See you again soon!
