Marcella was wonderful running front of house. The food is delicious and comes in many courses between performances of Fado. Just a magnificent experience.

The music was wonderful. The owner sent us away when we arrived for our reservation telling us to come back in an hour. The chair I sat on with no cushioning for hours was extremely uncomfortable. The food was terrible and huge amounts were provided with an older woman yelling at me to eat it and finish the soup. The music was magical. After hours of the food service I asked for the bill and provided my card. She choses this moment to tell me they only accept cash. Which of course I didn't have enough of. She told me there were ATM's on the street. So at 12:45 a.m. in a deserted, sketchy street I go to take out cash. She had hours to tell us this information or it could have been provided by The Fork. I was furious when we left which was not the way I wanted to end this evening. Despite the rude service, bad food and uncomfortable seating arrangements the Fado was wonderful.

It was a great experience . Bela is amazing and this is one of the most authentic Portuguese places . The fado singers are young people that will maintain the traditions.

Such a memorable evening for so many reasons. The hosts were amazing characters that added true value to the outstanding evening and the music was divine. Highly recommended.....and you won't leave hungry!

Absolutely wonderful- have been twice now, and so lovely and intimate and cozy each time. Hoping to return again this weekend with different friends to spread the word! Note: Be aware that part of the charm and coziness and intimacy is that it's a small restaurant with tables very close together, but it really does work. They have it down to a science to get everyone served perfectly in this small space, so it does almost feel like you are in someone's home, and the coziness is part of how that works.

Fado for the uninitiated and some really delicious food and good service. Went with three children 20, 18 and 15 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Winding through the back streets of Alfama to get there in the evening was a treat too. Definitely recommend!

A great little pearl in the heart of the old city. Wonderful hosts who made sure we had everything we needed, and very good Portuguese Tapas. We spent out first dinner in Lisbon there and it was an amazing start into our journey in Portugal. Thanks, we will recommend!
