9.5/10The food was very well prepared and the dishes were imaginative whilst still recognizably based on traditional recipes. The service was excellent; friendly and helpful. We sat at a high chair which was not as comfortable as conventional seating.

6/10The place is very nice, pretty ans cozy. The waiters are very polite and easy going. The only problem was the food. This place is from Victor Sobral, one of the most important and influential chefs of Portugal of the last 2 decades. An icon, a symbol. What was served doesn't match with that.

We had our first meal in Lisbon at Tasca de Esquina and loved it. Our server, Sofia, made our night extra memorable. She was so friendly, gave great recommendations on food (get the chef’s special marinaded fish!!) and wine, and had us try ginjinha (cherry liqueur). Excellent service that made our night. What a perfect intro to the city!

4/10Really shocked. We had an obnoxious waiter who tried to upsell us on everything and tried to overcharge us on the bill. When we sat down, I made a point to let him know that we live in the neighborhood and had friends visiting from out of town. He treated us like ordinary tourists and told us to sit back and let him do all the ordering! When our friend asked about the wine, he recommended a bottle with the price whited out! They looked at us like, why did you bring us here? Then, when we ordered, he just shook his head and proceeded to make other recommendations. Couldn't make it up! Food was ok, but there are many other places in CdeO! The topper was presenting us with the check including 40 Euros of items which we didn't order. When we called him out, he just said: "My bad." No, it was our bad choosing this place. Never again. Sorry, but cannot recommend this place to anyone again. Not enjoyable.

3/10Service was pretty horrible. Everything we tried to order was met with an attitude. The servers constantly asked, “really? you’re really ordering that?” and then wouldn’t allow us to order what we wanted. It is so uppity and honestly a sad, sad experience. I really don’t recommend this place. Work on your customer service skills and general kindness.

10/10Service is really friendly and attentive. They are there when they need to, bring a good amount of humor and have good recommendations for food and wine. The food is simply the best we had in Lisbon, fresh, tasty and well presented. We went for lunch bcoz dinner was fully booked, but still great experience and we recommend everyone who visits Lisbon to make a stop here

10/10The perfect place for upscale traditional Portuguese food. The menu selection is excellent with something for everyone. The staff are very friendly. We live in this neighborhood and think it is one of the best, especially because it is non-touristy.

This was the best meal we had in Lisbon. It’s cozy inside, the service is spectacular and the food was amazing. Our favorite things were the cockles in lemon, tuna tare tare and the pork shank! Don’t miss this place!

The restaurant was so cute and the staff was very welcoming. We had a lot of questions about the different tapas and entrees and they were eager to respond and provide recommendations. We loved everything we got and would definitely go again. So glad we found this spot during our trip!

10/10We absolutely loved our meal at Tasca da Esquina! It seemed full of many locals and fewer tourists which is always a good sign. We were traveling with friends, and got to try many menu items. The salt cod with egg and potato, the scallops, and the tuna steak were incredible bites. We’d never tried fried octopus, and this version was a real treat. Our server was an integral part of our amazing experience - from his warm and welcoming manner to his excellent food and wine recommendations. We were so happy when we left!

10/10This was one of our favorite meals in the 10 days we were in Portugal. The food was excellent but the service was on another level. Pedro was just about the nicest guy we met in Lisbon, very attentive (which is kinda hard to find in Europe if you're used to American service), brought us a few snacks on the house and a small glass of Port too to top it off. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, ask for Pedro if he doesn't greet you!

10/10We first went to Tasca da Esquina 8 years ago on our first visit to Lisbon. It was enchanting.....so we decided to revisit it on our last night in Lisbon this trip. It was still enchanting and just as memorable as we remembered. Superb food, staff and ambiance.
