We had a wonderful meal with André. He led us through the menu and the pork belly was especially remarkable. Highly recommend

We went to Tasca Jota for New Years Eve . There was a set menu. The food was amazing. There was endless wine and drinks. The atmosphere was great. A truly marvellous night.

The food was cooked very well, wonderful meal. The service was friendly and forthcoming. We had to wait a bit for our mains, but the wait was worth it, because to prepare an outstanding meal just takes a bit of time

Food was great as was the service

Service very slow and not attentive. Restaurant uncomfortably hot and we had to repeatedly ask for AC to be turned on. Appetizers were quite good but main courses were not

Our best meal since arriving in Lagos. The food was super tasty (we shared numerous tapas dishes, pork truffles were a highlight) and a great wine list also… recommend the white Douro. I was impressed at how professional and attentive all the staff were, they clearly all take pride in delivering the best service possible which made a great experience all round.

Service by waiting staff good. Order 2 steak to be cooked medium one was cooked as per order other was overcooked. Steak was tasteless could not eat ,did not complain at restaurant Very disappointed with the food and expensive for the standard of food provided. Not a restaurant I will return or recommend.

A short walk out of the old town and not your typical tourist restaurant, the food here is superb. Well worth a visit.

Located Outside the tourist district but deserves to be highly recognized. Food was delicious and beautifully presented from appetizers to main dishes. We had the fried squid strips, pork truffle balls, black squid linguine with shrimp and pork belly . All were amazing. Service was great as well.

We really enjoyed our dinner there. Everything was great. It even has a carpark 1 minute away.

Just outside the Old Town wall and walking there is easy. Delicious Tapas type items with traditional Portuguese flavors and very worth the visit. I'll definitely go back.

The food prepared by the chef was outstanding. The quality of the sauces elevated good ingredients to a high level. We really enjoyed everything about the evening.

Good Portuguese restaurant. Creative dishes, good wines and top service. Parking is available . Worth repeating!

We learnt from our waiter that Tasca means pretty much like “a hole in the wall “ in Portuguese and Jota means J. It was a delightful dinning experience for me and my wife. The food was fresh and tasty, and the presentation was fabulous. Worth two glasses of wine, we only paid about 50 euros. Highly recommend to anyone who visits Lagos!

Always the next level. Never fails. Brought my friends for a golf trip to Lagos instead of usual family and told them we need to eat at Tasca. I received so many compliments after the meal. The compliments should be with the hosts and chefs. Always an amazing experience

Beautiful and tasty dishes and very friendly service in a cozy setting!

We had excellent, friendly, knowledgeable service and a delightful meal of tapas. The prawns were fantastic. Be sure to get bread to mop up the delicious sauce! And you will need bread for the goat cheese. They also have a nice wine selection. It was very lovely!
7.5
The good points were the restaurant was nice and our main courses were excellent. We didn't get the house choice of couvert as we ordered but only bread which was disappointing. We only realised when our main courses arrived so it was too late to question. The bill only charged for bread so maybe it was a misunderstanding. We didn't stay for dessert as a huge parry of men had arrived and, although they were not rowdy, they were loud in the small room so we could barely hear ourselves talk. On another evening our review would probably be different.

Lovely food, great choice and excellent service.

The food was excellent, we took different tapas and main courses, everything was super good. The service was also very fine, the only thing would be the big noise of the fan of the open kitchen and the noise of everyone but overall that was super fine. I would recommend if you wish to try good Portuguese cuisine !!

The best restaurant in Lagos. These folks are the most knowledgeable foodies in town. Don’t miss out!!

Extremely tasty food - all five of us thought the same, despite having different dishes. The only downside was that it was a bit noisy with the kitchen air conditioner and the loud conversations, which may just mean they need to invest in some sound deadening materials. Highly recommended.

Every time I’m in Lagos I make it a point to eat here. Food is always on point, carefully prepared, beautifully presented and of top quality. Consistently delicious with food value. .
4.5
Service slow since they only had one waitress. Appetizers were good but unfortunately all the main courses were not well prepared at all. Filet tough, pork belly all fat & they did not put sauce on the fish dish only because I said no clams. Instead of the chef informing the waitress to tell me they would prepare the sauce without clams they decide to bring the fish dry. Luckily, the waitress noticed the pork belly & they refunded us.

Watch your bill! Make sure the wine you order - and the food - is what you are billed for. This is the first time it has happened to us in Lagos and its sad.

Fabulous out of the way spot in Lagos for quality cuisine. Just outside the old city walls, it’s tucked into a residential neighbourhood. Service was impeccable, staff was knowledgeable about the wines and the food. The black linguini with seafood was beautifully prepared as was the risotto with prawns. Value was excellent relative to the meal.

Our visit didn’t get off to a very good start, our first choice wine was not available and the second arrived at our table already open, strange!!. It was supposed to be a Sauvignon Blanc but tested nothing like one. No fish of the day on the menu, why I don’t know so I choose the cod and my wife had Black linguine with seafood, our starter was crab truffles. The starter was tasteless and suspect it was either frozen or hanging around for days, at this point we not very happy so far, it was about the get worse. My wife’s pasta was like a blob that looked and tasted cooked from frozen, the seafood bisque was barely warm, she refused to eat it and sent it back declining any other dish. We shared my cod but it sat in a bed of mush, not nice or the slightly bit interesting .I don’t think we are fussy but this has to be the worst meal we had out in 20 years. I don’t recommend this place and should have taken notice of some of the earlier reviews.

The food is good but not great. The staff didn’t speak Portuguese. One spoke English but other was South American and only spoke in Spanish. The major problema was when the ventilation system from the kitchen was turned on. The noise in the dining area was absurdly loud.

Really good food and excellent service. Was recommended a fantastic Vino Verde by the waiter, which I must find and bring back home.???? The warmest recommendation of this restaurant.
