The steak wasn’t great

Waiters were hard to get. No attention to outside tables. I asked if there are any salads in menu, the waiter said that every steak comes with potato and salad. We ordered two stakes and none of them came with any vegetables on the plate

During the winter season we normally do not operate the terrace precisely to ensure a higher level of service inside the restaurant. On occasions when the terrace is used, service dynamics can differ slightly, but our intention is always to remain attentive. Regarding the steak, at Templo Restaurante we serve our dry-aged meat without vegetables on the plate in order to present the product in its purest form. Potatoes and salad are served separately in a bowl, not directly on the steak platter. We regret if this was not clearly explained at the time. Great quality steak, well cooked and with a nice red wine selection. It’s pricey, but worth it for a special occasion. We’ll definitely go back when next in Alicante.

The food was terrible, the service was bad. They can’t cook the meat properly
TemploThank you for your feedback, Mohamed. Your party arrived more than 40 minutes late, which already affected the service. Additionally, your behaviour during the meal was not appropriate for the atmosphere we strive to maintain, causing discomfort to other guests. Regarding the food, you ordered a quantity clearly intended for fewer people than those at the table. This was pointed out at the time, yet you chose to proceed. Our meat and cuisine are prepared with precision and are highly valued by the vast majority of our guests. Templo Restaurante is based on quality, respect for the product and a certain dining culture. Unfortunately, this experience did not align with those values. Fortunately, most of our guests leave very satisfied and return regularly. Kind regards from the Templo Restaurante team.

We dined here on a previous visit to Alicante and decided to return. We had a 7:30pm booking and arrived as they were opening. The staff member (possibly manager) who greeted us was not very welcoming and seemed irritated by us being on time. We were seated near the door despite the restaurant being empty and were reluctantly moved when we asked. The serving waiter was friendlier. We ordered bread/olive oil, 30-day matured steak, accompanied by one side of fries & one salad bowl, we feel that the sides were small for the price. The steaks were undercooked and had to be taken back. In general the food was good but we don’t feel like we will return due to lack of welcome and lack of ambiance.

This is one of those restaurants where image is much more important than substance. The decor, service and image are all very good but the steak was disappointing for the price. About 50% of what you pay is bone and fat so you end up paying probably a minimum of about 40€ per person for edible meat. We asked for medium rare. It came as rare. Accompanied by only a small quantity of chips and salad for two. The choice of starters was restrictive - mainly beef based when all the main courses were beef (save for one goat plate). Could be more imaginative, but I guess they have to use their off-cuts of beef somehow. The wine was a bit pricey but very good (I had the feeling that they only source food quality wine, but then the restaurant is in Spain, so to be expected).

It was a low loin ribeye, one of the cuts with the least amount of bone and fat, and we would have gladly changed it had you preferred another. The salad and fries are served as a complimentary side in a balanced portion, and we’re always happy to provide more if requested. As for the menu, Templo Restaurante is a steakhouse specialized in dry-aged beef — secondary cuts are used in our burger restaurant, not here. We also take pride in our wine cellar, with more than 250 carefully selected labels — a collection rarely found even in Spain. We had a terrific server who chose a delightful wine for us based on the flavor profile of a wine we had a picture of. He was also so considerate of my need for vegetables that we had a delicious sautéd melange. My husband loved the steak!

Reservation at 7.30pm for myself, my wife and 2 young kids. Didn’t get Steaks until 9.20pm! By which stage the kids were bored and ready for bed! They messed up the starter order and while we were first to be seated when the place opened we were last to get main courses. Been here several time and this was by far the poorest. And they’d no Steak Tartare - which was the main reason we went there. Will be awhile before we return.

In previous years, the restaurant was better: the food was tastier, the portions were larger, and the service was slightly better. Overall, it’s still good, but the trend is negative.

It was rather confusing regarding choosing the meat - I don’t feel it was explained very well ~ so we ended up with regular filet steak that was sliced into thin pieces on a slate - this I have to say was infact excellent and beautifully tender ! This was accompanied by chips and salad : the chips were rather uninspiring however., and the waiter forgot my salad - which when it did arrive was fresh but heavily oiled : both chips and salad were served in small hand sized bowls : the staff were friendly but a little distracted : we both had a selection of 4 cheeses to start : small portions but fresh and (just) adequate : a bottle of nice acceptable red wine to accompany ~ coffee to finish - bill just under 120€ - so for what we had an ‘acceptable’ price - I would have liked to have understood the meat choices better as there are definitely more richer cuts than we had : not particularly liking much fat on meat, does narrow the choice down. however: I wouldn’t totally rule out a revisit

Fun experience choosing our steak and having it served table side. Delicious wine and great service. The steak was good, cooked perfectly and nicely marbled-,just a little different flavour and unusual for us to have Holstein steak.

We reserved a table to Templo but the waitress sent us to next door, El Santo. He promised us the same menu but never brought it. Tartar didn’t taste good, Pork belly was ok. Dry aged steak was raw and kinda tough. Waitress said he doesn’t speak english but spoke it fluently. He recommended an excellent local wine. Very good service, not satisfied with the food…

I asked for mushrooms that the owner said they don’t normally do but he’d see if they had some, cooked them himself with passion for his customers and said “ I cooked them as if they were for my family” Amazing, steak was also amazing, 100% recommend and would go again.

Every time we visit Alicante we visit Templo I love this place. The food is amazing as are the staff. They are very knowledgeable and always friendly and happy to offer advice. I have never been disappointed and can’t wait to return once again.

The waiters were so welcoming and the food was just AMAZING! The meat melts in your mouth and they know what they are doing! Trust me when I tell you to check this restaurant out!

Two out of three waiters totally ignored us. Only the female waiter handled us as guests. The food was ok, but worth the extra money compared to other restaurants in Alicante.
