7/10Visited Cave Restaurant and Wine Bar while staying nearby in Desenzano. We had dinner as a family and really enjoyed the atmosphere – the cave‑style setting is unique and makes for a cosy evening. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and service was attentive without feeling rushed. The menu offered some good options, and the wine list was impressive with plenty of local choices. Food quality was decent overall – well‑presented and tasty, though a few dishes could have had a bit more depth of flavour for the price point. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and worth visiting for the setting and service, with food that we’d rate around 7/10. We’d recommend it for the experience, especially if you enjoy an interesting location with a good wine selection.

10/10WE arrived with a booking at 21.30 after a long drive . The restaurant is set back from the chaos of the front - we were met with a smile and a pleasant Hello . WE chsoe a table outside - the extra effort was not a problem , we had a local red wine , the most AMAZING Carbonara we have ever tasted - the super lady chef ( the wife of the owner) makes it with passion and love .. just the best ... lovely people , Also , Make sure you take a bottle of thier Olive oil ... Olive Nectar ----

10/10We came here three nights ago and we were so impressed that we came last night and tonight too! Wonderful food cooked by ‘my wife’ . A small menu and extraordinary fast service. I cannot recommend this place enough. The pork and the cheese and truffle pasta were highlights and the homemade tiramisu was outstanding. A succinct list of excellent wines just tops it off.

10/10It was a cold windy wet night in Desenzano, so we trolled trip advisor and the fork looking for recommendations to cheer us up. The reviews for the Cave were excellent and although we had to bear the weather conditions we went for it. So glad we did. Charming little restaurant, excellent food, great ambience and super service. They even presented us with a mini cake for our 40th Anniversary. Would definitely go again. Paul And Amanda

10/10Only in Desenzano for a week, and ate in this restaurant x3 as it was so good. This little hidden gem is definitely worth trying. Between my husband and I we tried 5 different dishes, couldn't chose a favourite as all delicious. Beautiful authentic Italian food.

9/10We had a lovely time at The Cave Wine Bar. The staff is attentive and very friendly without being intrusive, the wine is excellent and the food very good. The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy, yet you are afforded some space unlike other places were you are literally on top of each other. A nice discovery, thanks to The Fork. The 30% off the food is just the icing on the cake! Well worth a visit!

10/10This a family run wine bar. The antipasta was delicious and paired beautifully with the wine. We enjoyed the best wine of our trip to Italy at the suggestions of our waiter. Highly recommend for a delicious wine interlude.

9/10Food was delicious and good value - always think it's better for a restaurant to have a selective menu and delver excellence across the board rather than have pages and pages of choice but then fail to offer quality, and this place was definitely of the former. A delicious set of largely pasta based dishes. Would highly recommend.

10/10Lovely pasta dish and very friendly service. We had carbonara which is one of the best we had in ages! Place is small, so it is good to reserve. Every guest was Italian (apart from us) which I think it was a good sign that the pasta was good! :) would recommend

10/10Restaurant hidden away in a side street but lovely welcoming staff. Not a huge menu but tasty food at reasonable prices - even better value with the unexpected Fork discount. We can recommend this restaurant for a very good dining experience.

10/10This is truly a hidden gem. They don't try to do everything, just what they are good at. The pasta was cooked perfectly and there is something on the menu for everyone. The dessert was delicious - best tiramisu we had the whole trip. The service was perfect and the ambience is warm and welcoming. Great meal!!

10/10I came here with my dog, as I was recommended it by a waitress at a cafe. I was travelling solo and I think I was the first person for dinner at the restaurant. Everyone was so friendly and weren’t rude about the fact that my Italian is terrible and that I couldn’t decide what to eat. Literally all the pasta dishes looked amazing. I believe it’s run by a husband and wife duo. Don’t be put off of it looks quiet when you see it. The pasta was amazing and so was the wine.
