Food is excellent, taste and well presented and the staff friendly, The service is very slow and the venue is a mixed use facility and the dining area is close to the walk through so the foot traffic past your table is a little distracting.

Never again! This is the worse restaurant experience in many years. The only positive element of the evening was a good service and a nice cup of tea. The rest was a drama. (I wanted to leave the moment I entered and regret I did not do it). The quality of food was very poor. It seems that the food is coming from Aldi packages and not even fresh. After three course dinner (AH actie) I left hungry. The “catch of the day” was mackerel fish, but I could not imagine that it was smoked mackerel which was grilled. It was so dry and disgusting that you could not eat it. So called “cheese cake” was the one from 1,99 per kilo from Aldi, full of chemicals and topped with peach pure, which made it even worse. The building and the space looked horrible. The door to the kitchen was all the time open, which looked hospital-like white and industrial (ex-school building). For this experience the bill was 100 euro (!). After AH discount we paid 65. For this price you can eat in the great restaurants. Terrible place!

Staff were friendly and there is a nice atmosphere but the food was just ok. Service was incredibley slow, it took 30mins to get a menu and 1hr30 after that we had only had a starter. No apologies were made or the delay explained. I had the vegetarian starter which was supposed to be served with halloumi but was actually served with goats cheese. The vegetarian main course was not filling at all and probabely should be in the starters section.

We go here often as it's close to home and always 'gezellig', plus the food is generally good. The menu changes often, so if there was something we tried and didn't like, no problem, next time we'll try something new and 9 out of 10 times it's delicious. The concept is a bit like Jamie's Fifteen, where young people with a social disadvantage are given a chance to prove themselves - in the kitchen. They come up with food concepts, they cook, serve, host - and at the end of a certain period they 'graduate' and a new group comes in. What I like about Colour Kitchen is that the menu choices are a mix of foods from around the world plus the fact that the menu is always changing. The setting is cool too, in an old school.
