Excellent food and service. We even got a review of three different port wines so we could decide which one to choose. Even with other customers the waiter took his time to explain for us.

This was a great eating experience. It’s a very small place but the food and service were fantastic. We ordered multiple appetizers and one meal to share and it wasn’t an issue for the owner/host/server. We ordered the tuna tartare and it was fantastic. All three appetizers were also fantastic. The wine selection was great. We ordered dessert and the suggested port win to accompany it. The owner kept refilling our glass for free. It was a great time.

What an unexpected find! Seemingly a one man band for the most part, but a very slick operation. A small menu but done so well and an absolute font of knowledge on wines and ports. Mix that all in with a great playlist and you have a fabulous evening all round. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!

An absolutely amazing dining experience! The wine selection is outstanding — a huge variety that will impress even the most passionate wine lovers. The menu is beautifully crafted, with every dish we tried being full of flavor and expertly prepared. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the person running it — incredibly kind, welcoming, and with a great sense of humor that instantly makes you feel at home. A perfect spot for a relaxed, tasteful night out. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic evening. Great food, great wine, and amazing service. If you’re in the mood for sharing some clearly very carefully curated wines with excellent tapas, you really can’t do much better. You can tell the owner really cares about quality over quantity, and isn’t afraid to turn away tables to ensure his guests get the experience they deserve. For a larger plate, the tenderloin is fantastic, and the old school tableside prep is special. Thank you for making our last evening in Lisbon a memorable experience.

Wonderful food and excellent wine. Our host was charming and recommended some delicious wines. Cozy and relaxed space with good music. We had 6 glasses of wine, 3 small plates and crepe suzette for 2 at €56. What incredible value.

The owner, chef, sommelier, dish washer is a great guy who is so knowledgeable about his wine & who can turn out a superb dish of food. Enjoyed every minute of our time in here. A very well done to that man.

What a find this was! Owner/chef/sommelier/waiter was madly husrling by the time we left this little 8-table/24-seat restaurant but fortunately we were first to arrive so we had his undivided attention as we made our selections. His suggestions were spot on, and his table side prep of a beef tenderloin steak was fascinating! Limited menu, but still enough selection. We loved it!

Our expectations were high for the wine and moderate for the food. Everything exceeded our expectations. The owner/sommelier/chef is beyond amazing. We met people from all over the world, drank some of the best Portuguese wine and enjoyed fresh eats. GO! It’s worth the crazy cab drive.

I don’t have significant distinction in wine, particularly Portuguese wine, but the sommelier (owner & proprietor) at the Corkscrew has more. I suspect he has more distinction than anyone I have yet drunk with, and I am a well traveled drinker. It turns out he teaches at the local university and has consulted significantly in European culinary circles. Our meal was way better than average. And the usual trappings of “fine dining restaurants” , eg pretension and exclusivity, were completely absent. Just great pairings and an edifying lecture about local grapes and wine. You’ll probably zip past this small spot (next to the very small door) on your tuk tuk. Be sure to reserve a spot for the evening and enjoy this Lisbon gem.

A lovely dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The wine selection is top notch and the owner seems very knowledgeable about what he offers. We left our selection to him and were not disappointed (and the price was very reasonable). We ordered a cheese plate that was very nice and then the tenderloin sommelier style. The meal was great and the “show” was as well. Highly recommend this place. Be prepared to dine. As this night was a one man show, the service is paced but the attention you get is worth it.

Experience was great, wine was fabulous. Table side steak for us was ok, but the sardines blew us away. Follow the lead of the owner on wine suggestions, no, you don’t know more than him.

Small winebar with a wide selection of Portuguese wines from across the mainland and the islands. Great intimate service provided by the owner, with an excelent knowledge of each wine. Very good cheese, hams and chouriços platters. This was my third visit and I plan to continue to visit whenever I'm in Lisbon

Such a hidden gem! Food was incredible and the owner/chef was so lovely and helpful. The restaurant is decorated well and there is plenty of selection of good wines. Great music selection too! Would really recommend coming here for food and/or drink
