Service poor. Didnt have fisrt choice of food. Waited too long, watched others being served. Restaurant cold and food when eventually arrived was likewarm. Waited an hour between starter and main. Waiter explained tonight was an exception as short staffed in kitchen...this should have been explained at the start with a choice to leave. Very dissappointed.

I would have given 5 stars across the board except for the fact that the space is too small for a live band. The music was good but too loud for such a small space. We were told they only perform on Fridays and Saturdays so best to eat there any other night. Unless you don’t mind not being able to hear each other talk. We are here once before and the quality of the food has improved.

It was a Sunday evening with the restaurant 75% full. The music was too loud and sounded “tinney” The food was good, although I think the chef may have changed. For the surroundings and food it offers very good value for money and is above the norm for both in Alicante. I hope it survives and prospers

Our visit to Velvet Fork was truly memorable for all of the right reasons. The warm welcome, the superb decor and the exciting menu and wine choices all contributed to what turned out to be a fantastic evening. We particularly liked the mussels in blue cheese sauce, served in deep oyster shells, which were absolutely delicious. That said, the quality, taste and presentation of all of our other menu selections were first class. Needless to say, we will not hesitate to make another booking here during our next visit to Alicante, and cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who is considering booking for the first time. Oh, and one last thing they have live music at weekends! What a find! A true gem!

Very attentive friendly staff who truly wanted to make your evening special. It was my birthday and the guy felt awful because I hadn’t told him so he insisted on giving us a little drink whilst we waited for our taxi which they were happy to order. Food was fab too ! Really a fab restaurant. Thank you.

Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. Communication was a major issue, as not all the servers spoke English well, which made placing our order frustrating and confusing. The service was also extremely slow. We specifically asked to have the appetizers served with the main course, but they only arrived after we had already finished eating our meat. On top of that, the pricing is outrageously high for what you actually get. The quality of the food and service does not justify the cost at all. Overall, I would not recommend this place – it’s simply not worth it.

We took our family there and had a marvelous meal. The atmosphere was amazing and Anna our waitress was the best. She was attentive to our every need making it especially enjoyable. She gave extra attention to our grandchildren. What a wonderful woman. Thank you for a true dining experience.

great food and decorations but the music was too loud and annoying, couldn't even have a conversation with my date, its not well thought to sing so loud and makes people uncomfortable...if they change this, everything will be better

Our waiter was fun and energetic so that was pleasant. The artichoke was pretty cold yet still good, if it was warmer it probably would be the best thing we ate. I just could not shake the feeling of the place being a bit of a tourist front with what appears to be GAI artworks and the general vibe of the place. But the food was still pretty decent if not too imaginative. Recommend artichoke and squid salad. Do not recommend the ribs.
