8.5/10Lovely restaurant, with lovely staff. I have marked the food down only because my food was served on a cold plate, and cold wilted spinach and rapidly cooling steak is not great. Serving hot food? Serve it on a hot plate! For me and my guests, that would have made a huge difference. Thank you for a nice evening.

9.5/10Interesting plates, excellent wine and wonderful service with Vinicius. Definitely try the polenta. Great for both vegetarians and carnivores. Have enjoyed our multiple visits!

7.5/10To be honest, our expectations for this place were high, but we were a bit disappointed. 1. We felt some discomfort in the way we were treated 2. The food is reasonable, we were expecting something that would surprise us and that didn't happen. 3. Lots of smoke and food smell, a sign that the smoke extraction is not working, leaving your clothes smelling of food and the air difficult to breathe.

10/10Cozy, casual and elegant. A perfect place to spend a quiet dinner! My husband and I enjoyed the night's specials, grouper and beef tenderloin, and both were great. We will be returning for certain!

10/10Firstly, we are always welcomed as old friends when we arrive! Our server (from Brazil) was so kind and helpful! He was very friendly and smiling all the time! As for the food - it's been very good every time that we have been here and we have never had a dish that we didn't enjoy! We never feel rushed when we are there but the food is brought out so that we never feel like we're waiting for it! We will definitely be returning!

10/10We have lived in Caldas for almost 2 years and I am certain our meal tonight is the absolute best we’ve had, anywhere in Portugal! Our meals were expertly prepared with attention to details. The fish was delicious, mouthwatering, the vegetables were crisp and seasoned perfectly. The steak was cooked medium rare and we could cut it easily and melted in our mouths. Potatoes were creamy and buttery. The Pavlova for dessert was the perfect ending to a fabulous meal! Bravo! Our waitresses were helpful, kind and patient.

10/10Small resturante, great service, fantastic food, full of flavour and pleasing to the eye, the chef is excellent. The excellent meal was to celebrate my wife's birthday and we couldn't fault it, a meal to remember.

10/10Always a friendly face greets us when we arrive and lets us choose our table! The food is very good and although we have been 4/5 times now the menu hasn't changed. However, the items that we have had constantly have always been delicious. The nice surprise is that the bill arrives and we have all agreed that the bill does not match the food - the food is so good, delicious, plentiful and not expensive. We will continue to return - I would say it's now our go-to restaurant when we just want to pop in somewhere!

9.5/10Always a great experience for food and service, had the Prato do dia and the fish was cooked perfectly, risotto as well and grilled veggies. The server suggested a wine from the region which was reasonably priced and very good. Highly recommend, only wish there was window for air circulation as it was just a bit warm but nothing uncomfortable where I wouldn’t go back, it was a warm day!

9/10Good quality dishes, with nice execution. Service was gracious, attentive and timely. The vegetarian choice (mushrooms and risotto) my husband had was interesting and well-executed. The space is a bit loud once full, but that didn’t subtract from the enjoyable experience for our group of six.

10/10Went to dinner with friends. Each of us had a different entree. All 4 meals were excellent. Well prepared, well presented and delicious. I highly recommend Ti Ascencio for any dining experience you are desiring.

Our first visit to their new location in Caldas but the food and service were as excellent ever. All three courses were beautifully presented and mouth-wateringly delicious. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant for great food at very reasonable prices . However, be aware that at present they do not accept cards, it is cash only, which caught us out.
