This was the first lunch at Al Dente of the year. The opportunity to greet Francesca, her team and her family, running the Trattoria for more than 20 years now. And lunch with Mathew with whom we did not meet for at least 10 years - and launch a new possible joint activity. We both took the paccheri which came fast and good, as usual. I will be back.

We were in a hurry. The place was packed. We asked Francesca the owner and often also the Chef: we need to go in one hour, if we take the pasta, will we be on time? As usual, the pasta was great, amongst the best in Brussels. I took my preferred Paccheri with Sausage, Yannis took the Tagliolini for their condiment with pig's cheeks (guanciale, like bacon, but so much softer). Alessandro handed me a paper bib to protect my suit. We had to leave in a hurry due to meetings and Francesca split the bill in less than a minute. And then we were gone. But we will be back

The impression of today only confirmed my earlier impressions: excellent italian food with a smiling and attentive service. One of the great lunch places in the EU/Lux/Trone quarter.

The food is not very good. My carpaccio (main dish portion, in principle) was very tiny (for 20 Euro), with random, super cold, vegetables on it. My friend had pappardelle with sausage (also 20 Euro), tomato sauce was super acidic. 3,50 Euro for a macchiato is a theft.

We ordered three different pasta dishes and each of them was tasteless. And pricier than average. Otherwise the welcome was friendly and the atmosphere was fine, but unfortunately we will not go back.

When I went to the restaurant, it was more than 30 degrees in Brusssels. With the door of the restaurant open, the interior decoration, the excellent pasta meal, the ambience ... it was like a had a lunch in Italy ????
