This is an authentic experience of sitting down in a bare basics atmosphere surrounded by Sicilians enjoying delicious traditional local dishes. The Polpette di Baccalà are super. I had Pasta Ricci. I had waited to try this in a spot where I thought it would be best and I hit the mark. The house red was good and everyone’s meals elicited many mmmms. Fine dining it isn’t. Really great eating is what it’s all about.

Non so come si scrive in Italiano. Lascio la recensione in inglese. I came upon this place by accident. The lady in the kitchen recommended reservations, and I could see why. It has a charming ambience, nothing fancy inside. However the food is phemomenal. The best mussels I've ever had. The pasta with mussels and calamari, outstanding. Service was amazing. The staff hustled the whole time, and I want to thank them profusely. I hope this review gets to them. On a side note, I asked the waiter if they had pasta con le sarde. He said not today because they don't have the "right sardines." They have to have the right sardines to make the perfect dish. That spoke volumes to me. The whole staff worked as a team and I see how they take pride in their work. I thanked the lady in the kitchen who I saw the day before. Can't say enough.

This was one of my favorite meals we had on our trip! The eggplant was so delicious and the pasta dishes excellent. We also enjoyed the house red and the service was very welcoming.

+2High-level prepared and very tasty Sicilian national food at adequate prices. The restaurant itself (looks like a canteen) is very plane but with attentive and warmly-welcome service. All locals eat there, it means that it is a trusted place.

The worst experience, we waited 1 hour for pasta, which was tasteless, my last day in Sicily was spoiled by going there. There were 6 of us and none of us could eat it, such tasteless pasta and that after 1 hour of waiting. I'm surprised it has such high ratings, it was terrible

Good quality and reasonably priced food. The ambience was relaxed but that did not take away from the service which was excellent, as well as being welcoming and friendly. This restaurant may not be in the most beautiful area but it is well worth a visit because of the overall quality.

A frienly and affordable restaurant specialising in downhome Sicilian cooking with excellent seafood made accessible with outside area for warm nights. Very near the main train station we ate here twice and enjoyed both meals for food, service and price.

+1Excellent, authentic Sicilian food. We loved the pasta with pistachios! Really good Value. The restaurant is casual and unpretentious, with a local feel. Despite having many tables, the restaurant including the terrace was completely full. In the evening, a warmer, dimmer light inside would make the space feel more inviting. All in all, recommended!

Always delicious and freshly prepared dishes, limited menu which makes choice quick and easy, good choice of typical dishes. We love the atmosphere and the efficient staff, and come every time we are visiting Palermo.

The fried cod was excellent, the pasta with pistachios and eggplant was good, the Sicilian Salad was the worst example that we have experienced over the past week in Sicily. The ratio of oranges was extremely low, and the usage of lettuce greens versus shaved fennel was a very bad direction for the Chef. the only positive for the salad was the price, 5 euro, but even at that price it was not worth it. Also, I found the "only digital" menu to be annoying and cumbersome as you are trying to maneuver through the order with the waiter.

The food at Trattoria Al Sorriso was great, with a great atmosphere. A very busy spot with locals, and perhaps because of this our order was rushed and ended up being wrong. My husband never orders pasta and that's what he received due to the rush with the communication. However, as it was so delicious, it ended well! A take away pack was needed to take home as the serve was so abundant, and it was probably one the best top 3 pastas I'd ever had in my life. Appetizer of Eggplant rolls also very delicious in a great sauce. Would love to try some different dishes in the restaurant, I'm sure they would be very good!
