Lovely little family owned trattoria we went there twice. Can’t wait to go back.

Felt like a local, hole in the wall. We went on a Saturday night at 8:30 and ate amongst locals and some travelers. The food was outstanding. Clearly everything is homemade and fresh. We had spinach and ricotta raviolis which was a special on the menu along with gnocchi with duck ragu. Finished it off with a tiramisu. Very reasonably priced as well.

Really good quality local food and friendly, efficient service. The fried eggs with truffle and braised cheeks were good as were the pasta dishes we tried.

Trattoria La Ginone is my favorite restaurant in Florence! It’s a wonderful, family-run spot with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve been welcomed into their home for dinner. The pici with beef ragù and the tiramisu are both absolutely outstanding, and the prices are very fair. I can’t wait to go back soon!

Very welcoming staff and excellent food. Menu had plenty of authentic local choices made fresh every day (some great looking choices sold out). Definitely would return.

Lovely local restaurant with traditional foods done superbly well. Clearly a family restaurant and they couldn’t be more helpful. We booked after visiting on a food tour and we were not disappointed. Really good value also

Very nice local food that felt like homemade. The people were really kind. It is located in a quiet street away from the hussle.

The food is ok and the tiramisu I ordered looked like it has been rubbed.

The kitchen could not handle the numbers of covers. Some tables cheered when they had their courses delivered. I asked for the florentine steak but was told the smallest available was 1.5kg - when it turned up it was extremely tough. Another couple turned up after this point and sat next to us - they were advised that there was a 1.2kg florentine steak available. I suspect this was because we were tourists. Shame as the staff were very personable. They may have just been having an off night.
Trattoria Da GinoneCiao Darren,ti rispondo punto per punto perché hai detto cose sbagliate ed alcune proprio inventate. -Se si chiede la bistecca alla fiorentina i tempi di attesa sono circa 20 minuti, non è colpa della cucina ma semplicemente sono i tempi di cottura di un taglio di carne abbastanza spesso. -Hanno applaudito perché era la loro seconda portata, quella principale, quella per cui avevano prenotato! -La bistecca alla fiorentina si compone di osso a T, filetto e controfiletto, quindi ha un peso minimo. Quella sera avevamo da 1,5 kg in su, ed anche i vostri vicini di tavolo hanno preso lo stesso peso; Poi te parli solo inglese e loro italiano, come hai fatto a capire cosa dicevano? Oltretutto la nostra sala ha 40 posti a sedere ed ognuno vede tutto, anche gli altri ordini, saremmo degli stupidi a fare cose diverse, non credi? Perché ti inventi le cose? -Da noi i turisti sono trattati come chiunque altro, sennò non saremmo qui dal 1949. Questa è una accusa grave e ti invito a ritirarla! Saluti, Staff Da Ginone 1949

Excellent Florentine cuisine in a cozy setting. Good wine selection, attentive service. Bisteca Florentine and pici were stand-outs. Would love to return for another meal.
