7/10Quality of food has changed not for the better. The cacio e pepe was dry. My amatriciana was more than al dente. It needed to cook more. The best part of the meal was the fried sardines. We were disappointed.

6/10Food was good, but nothing exceptional unfortunately :( I came with high expectations as I ate there 14 years ago with my dad. When entering they said they didn’t have a table, although we booked online two days before. After insisting we finally had a spot inside. Again, good food! (Nothing bad) But I wouldn’t call it the best experience in Rome either… service was average :)

9/10We, a group of four people, two German two Italian went out to eat at la trattoria degli amici on a normal Wednesday and had antipasti, primi e secondi. The quality of the food was well above what I expected from a charity run restaurant. Even my Italian box-friend who is very picky and critical was happy and fond of the chef’s creations. Service by people with varying special needs worked out just fine and was very friendly. Recommendable!

9.5/10Went based on a suggestion from Rick Steves and we are so glad we did. We both enjoyed everything we had from the appetizers to the dessert. Will definitely go back

9/10I love this little restaurant. I have been coming here for several years and it is always delightful. Yummy food, friendly service and doing good things for the community. My favourite dish is the baccala alla Romana, with chicory as a side dish.

8.5/10We were welcomed back like old friends The service was rather slow but when they came the portions were so simple that we had to ask for a box to take some home! Excellent food and a very good cause supported.

9/10Nice trattoria on a piazza in Trastevere so tables inside and out, pleasant atmosphere. Menu is simple but everything is good and well presented. The main advantage of this place is that they are connected to the local charitable association Sant'Egidio and employ youngsters with learning difficulties or having been through rehab programmes. Unfortunately they seem to have discontinued their collaboration with local fair-trade producers and their wine is expensive for a very limited selection, with no house wine as would normally be expected in a local trattoria. I hope they will reconsider this policy.

10/10This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Rome. The food is the best I’ve had. The service is friendly and legitimately sincere. The restaurant is quaint and when you sit outside, the best. The fact they also dedicate themselves to hiring disabled folks and sending cash for HIV in Africa is icing on the cake
