+1We had lunch at the backyard and it was wonderful because it tucks inside the side street. It was like a Paradise hidden inside the busy city center of Florence. The pastas were delicious, as well as the starter and osso bucco! The service was just right! It was so good that we decided to go back for dinner the next day! We had the Bisteca alla Florentinena and the papadelli. The steak was much better than those that claimed they were “100 beat steak” restaurants! In addition, the delicious wine that was recommended by our server who also recognized and served us for lunch the previous day, was absolutely fantastic! Very reasonable price as well as the quality of all dishes that we tried!

I have visited this restaurant multiple times since September 1991. It has been uniformly amazing for 34 years. Best lasagna on the planet.

We went to Trattoria del Pennello to have a Fiorentina steak and it was the most enjoyable experience: great food, honest prices, wonderful customer service and cozy ambiance. We highly recommend it!!!

Great food, beautiful location, super nice staff. Right in the centre of a touristic city like Florence it’s very difficult to get all these positive points in one address and certainly this was one of those rare occasions. Definitely recommended, wholeheartedly.

The service was okay but prices are way to expensive to how little food you get and it is not that tasty. I payed 26 euros for a 100g steak and that was it. There were not even sides included. Would not recommend.

We passed this restaurant walking one evening and thought the outside area looked so inviting. We made a reservation and Google maps took us to the front of the restaurant. We thought is was the wrong spot until we noticed the outside area in the back of the restaurant. Apparently we walked past the back side the night before. The food is delicious! The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is lovely. We’ve eaten in many Florence restaurants over the last 10 years of traveling here and this is now in our top 10.

I went later than the reservation, but I was able to have a delicious dinner and even get a discount. The staff were kind and the food was delicious. I want to go again, but it's sad that tomorrow is a restaurant holiday.

Excellent anti pasto plate! Server was very respectful of our desire to eat slowly. We enjoyed the dinner and ate in the outside patio/garden area. Even with a bit of rain we enjoyed our entire meal and evening! Food was excellent.

Cute little restaurant in the heart of Firenze, wonderful beef filet (perfectly sangue) in truffle cream with sliced truffles on top. Our app calamari was fresh, crisp, and generous. The dining room was nearly empty, so it was pleasantly quiet. The only thing that marred the experience was the head waiter’s demeanor, distant bordering on surly.

Restaurant food was great, but service was terrible. We waited a long time for our food and we were ignored. Empty wine bottle and empty wine glasses. Finally got their attention for more water! Did not get the 30% discount. It was busy, but still need to acknowledge your customers, especially when others after us got their meals.

I have been here a number of times over the years and always had good meals. The previous owners sold it 5 years ago and it is no longer as good as I remember. Average pastas, and the Bistecca was tough.

We came to the recommendation of a traveler's guide and thought that ours would come to an Italian restaurant and the agreement that they do not specialize in pastries but meat. The calamari dish was pointless and served without sauce. The pasta dishes were disappointing.

So good food and service! Best experience in 4 days in Florence. Our server recommended the best and was so nice. The spaghetti alla vongole was super????

The atmosphere in the area next to the main entrance needs to be improved: quite noisy and everytime the entrance door was opened a very bad smell entered the room. The Fork reduction of 50% was not included in the final bill.

I loved every minute in this restaurant. The restaurant is 500 years old. So there’s definite ambience. The wait staff was very friendly and kind. They made thoughtful suggestions to make a meal a true pleasure. The presentation of the food was outstanding, making it a delight to see as well as eat. I plan to return to this restaurant during my short stay in Florence.
