After visiting a few restaurants that had a lot of excellent reviews I was a bit sceptical about this one especially with the size of the trattoria. The vibe in this place really made it at enjoyable night along with the great food. The price paid was very good too.

9/10The food was incredible, fresh pasta and the service for the size of restaurant was decent. It’s a very very small place with few workers and they have filled the space with tables (literally not being able to fit unless the person behind you scoots in their chair). I rated the ambience lower as it got very hot inside but the pasta was really delicious. Highly recommend it for the pasta.

Hi Matt! Is that why you're giving it a 6?? It doesn't seem fair to me! If you'd seen the place beforehand, you could have avoided sitting down! Giving such a low rating ruins our very high average! Think about it! Chef Roberto

10/10It’s a small, traditional place. Squashytables and fast turnaround. Booking pretty much essential but delicious traditional food, great friendly service and good value. Don’t expect a quiet romantic meal but great food and wine in a traditional setting. Would highly recommend.

6.5/10The food was lovely but the service and atmosphere not so much. The staff were great and extremely friendly but it was extremely busy and we had people without reservations waiting for a table literally right next to us, hovering around us while eating. I don't think the weather helped as it was raining so people obviously didn't want to wait outside in the rain. It was real shame as I was looking forward to this.

9.5/10My wife and I had a fun time with the owner/ our waiter. The basil salad and eggplant parmigiana were delicious! We had a nice bottle of wine that was only 30 euros. The owner poured us some nice Mirti on the house to finish off the excellent meal. The decor of the the small restaurant is nothing fancy but the food is excellent and cheap!

You have to make a reservation to get in here. Tiny restaurant in a small street & they’re turning the tables fast & loud. The tables are very tight & it’s not for a long romantic night. Food comes fast…looks & tastes very good…but fast…

10/10Managed to squeeze in without a reservation on our first night and were delighted to do so! Amazing food, great service, lovely atmosphere. So much so that we made reservations for a second time. Do not miss the Roman meatballs!!

6/10We were actually looking forward to dining at „Trattoria della Stampa dal 1956“ because of its great reviews. However, we were somewhat disappointed. It started with us having to wait outside the door for 20 - 30 minutes along, despite having a reservation. In this situation, it would have been appropriate to at least offer us an aperitif to make the wait a bit more pleasant. When we finally got our table, we didn‘t feel very comfortable, as it seemed like there was a two-class system among the guests. Some were treated with great enthusiasm, while others including us seemed to be somewhat forgotten. Even at the end, some guests were offered a digestif, while others (again, including us) were not. As for the food, we weren‘t particulary impressed - it was clear that everything had to be done quickly (it would be better in the future to avoid offering a second service). Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but in any case, we didn‘t leave with a feeling of satisfaction that evening.

In Italy for 10 days and this was by far my favorite restaurant. Great service and great food. Treated us like family. Highly recommend - must get reservations in advance.
