5.5/10Booked due to excellent reviews, however extremely disappointed. One side of the restaurant was chaotic, the other building calm with spaces. Hence, waiters were distracted. The bread basket was dry and consisted of end pieces, the green side salad was limp leaves, and both pasta dishes were average.

10/10We returned to Giovanni’s after many years. It did not disappoint! The bistecca and filet melted in your mouth. The salad so fresh, and the pecorino perfecto.

7/10It felt more like a restaurant in the USA where they rushed you in, fed you and released you. The food was good, but not anything I have had in Italy. I should have realized that it was going to subpar when I had to make a Reservation. I enjoy talking to a waiter and asking Questions, and pouring wine and leisurely enjoying my meal. This wasn’t that.

10/10Everything here was amazing! 10 out of 10 would return in a heartbeat. I didn’t want the meal to end. The service was thoughtful and thorough, best dish was hard to pick but gotta say the papperdalle with wild boar blew me away!

9.5/10The food was absolutely excellent. I had the boar's meat pasta and the Ribilieto soup. The waiter gave great advice to split the Ribilieto, as it was more like a stew. The maitre de (Giovanni?) was helpful and kind to my tired son. Although we were rushed, this was absolutely the best meal I had in Firenze and perhaps in Italy. I'd go back in a minute.

This restaurant is amazing! Ate there 2 years ago and was excited to go back again and have it be just as wonderful! Food was amazing and the wine recommendation was perfect! The staff is fantastic! Highly recommend the florentine steak!

The food is simply wonderful. Had the fresh pasta with sautéed beef cheeks with a leonardo beer. White beans and savoy cabbage as starters.

Easy walk from historic area. Food was delicious. Nice wait staff, not only our waiter but the rest of the staff stopped by throughout the meal to check on us. We had the traditional prosciutto with melon appetizer which was perfect with heaps of the cured meat. Our two primi pastas were heavenly, the Gorgonzola gnocchi and the pasta with cow cheek sauce, meat was super tender. Our secundo was the grilled sausage with side of potatoes.

The experience was across the board the best we had in Florence, simple and clean flavors. You are well fed but you won’t feel awful after eating a huge variety of dishes. Quality ingredients. Neighborhood vibe. The staff was all working as a team and were on top of everything. Nobody rushed you along, and the owner was keeping an eye out while enjoying the evening. Definitely a great choice.

Our experience here was nothing less of amazing! The food, specifically the steak, was out of this world. Hands down the best steak I’ve had. The waiters were very helpful to us with understanding the menu and even gave us good wine recommendations. We ended our dine with complimentary limoncellos and I must say this Italian restaurant owes me nothing! 10’s across the board!

We went for a late lunch which meant changeover in waiting staff. However, they were helpful and individually did their best to advise us of what would be best! The steak Florentine was melt in the mouth delicious.
