+6Wow! If you ever wanted to go home to your Sicilian friends and eat, but you don't have any Sicilian friends, you should definitely go to Trattoria Il Mare! It is exactly the restaurant I was looking for. Less touristic, more local flavors and atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious! Simple, tasty, incredibly good. In the beginning they gave me a couple of bruschette con pomodoro, on the house. Perfect balance between the tomatoes, olive oil and herbs. I tried the grilled sword fish, which was amazing! Definitely one of the best I've ever had. As a side dish, I chose the parmezan spinach, which was also very tasty and perfectly cooked. Desert(s): I had the inspiration of ordering citrus sorbet. My God, you have to try that one! I also tried the tiramisu, also very good. Drinks: Looking for the real local experience, I took the house wine, which paired perfectly with my meal. The staff was very friendly, always present and attentive.

Food was rather bland and mediocer. Guanciale in my pasta was really not crispy and not cooked, and that is definitelly what you want in amatriciana. The staff was really doing what they can but i Think the place is undestaffed.
Trattoria Il MareIl guanciale dentro la salsa di pomodoro, inevitabilmente assorbirà il sugo e perde la croccantezza. Al contrario, nella carbonara non perde la croccantezza.

Traditional, low key, friendly, great food, very good value, no frills - just what we wanted

The chef, Fabio, took our order and turned it to a masterpiece. We had seafood pasta, grilled swordfish and tagliatelle with fish and calamari. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. We were seated near the kitchen and witnessed how the whole crew worked meticulously. The food was a bit slow to come but we appreciate how excellent the food came out.

Quality, quantity, price and atmosphere. A real family run traditional Trattoria. Do not come here if you want to impress with fancy gourmet dishes. Come here only if you are interested in delicious Sicilia food, kind service and a cozy atmosphere. Will be back again and again.

Great, really great service. The owner and his son are cooking, really adorable and happens not so often even in the family restaurants. The pasta for my daughter was a little bit too salted and they have offered to me, to bring me a new one. I have rejected their offer, but they surprised me with no paying for the pasta. Amazing, really!!! The rest of the food was very delicious, typical Sicilian, fresh fish and huge portion, the prices more than perfect 👌

A nice lttle restaurant and the food was of good quality but the service was rather quick in that you had just finished one course and the next one arrived. Staff were very pleasant

This restaurant is rustic, but don't let that detract from the quality and quantity of the food they produce. This is not 'fine dining' but it most certainly is replenishment dining, if you've spent the day trekking on Mt. Etna. The staff were very friendly and helpful and, providing you are not fussy, this is a great trattoria.

After 2 hours waiting in an almost empty restaurant we decided to live. We were extremly hungry. We wanted to pay the wine and beer we had and they expected us to pay the full meal we never got. The chef was screaming like crazy that he had a lot of work . SCARY.

Best food I’ve ever had. Take the 20e (for two) seafood antipasto. 8 plates of pure seafood bliss. The house wine was really good and cheaper than water.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Il Mare, on a Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. This is early by Italian standards, and the only reason why I marked the ambience down, as at that hour, it was impossible to judge. That aside, it’s an unpretentious restaurant that serves delicious seafood. We started with complimentary bruschette, followed by stuffed sardines, oven baked sea bream and mixed fried seafood, with grilled aubergines. Our server filleted the bream meticulously and it was beautifully cooked. The house white was pleasantly dry, and we finished off with an excellent home-made limoncello digestif. All this for under 60 Euro, which we thought was very good value.

Amazing italian traditional place. If you are looking for a proper Sicilian food experience not made for tourists, but for true Italians, you will love it!

It was amazing. The place is a small local restaurant with guest from the neighborhood. The food was fresh and super delicious, and the service was superb. I wish that I could visit this place more often. I really hope this place stays the same and I can come back somewhere in the future.

The food was excellent, we had the 13 plates of antipasto, which was more than enough for two people! We also had an excellent pasta and the frittura was nice. I strongly recommand the place.
