A top quality, family run seafood restaurant minutes from the cathedral square. La Pigna offers beautifully prepared pasta and fresh fish dishes, with fine wines, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Don’t take my word, try it for yourself!

Such a simple, elegant and delicious meal! My husband and I made reservations for Sunday night, not knowing much about the restaurant. We were so delighted when the owner/server brought a tray of fresh fish and lobsters to our table to show us the catch of the day. He told about the flavors of each and we decided on a fish (I can’t remember the name!) that was white, mild and almost sweet meat. Our starter was called The Pine and it was a sampling menu of 6 or 8 typical Sicilian flavors - each was so interesting and tasty! The dessert was a Sicilian cake (lime and pistachio) and a great way to end the meal. The service was impeccable and the meal was delicious! We can’t recommend this restaurant enough for anyone who is looking for fresh seafood prepared in a typical Sicilian style.

6/10The meze at the beginning was pretty good. The main course , scorpion fish, was awash with water (?) and just wasn't interesting enough. The problem for us and this trattoria was that the day before we had been to a tiny family run trattoria also in Ortigia that was outstanding. So our judgement may be jaded by that.

Indementicabile. We enjoyed the entire meal. Unfortunately we had lunch at a winery and would have liked to be hungrier. The pasta was perfect and my husband was enamored with the Pasta alla Pigna. The fish selection is amazing and so fresh. Tables nearby were raving about the pasta with lobster. The antipasti plate was fish based and very popular. We regretted not having it so much that we have reserved again for tomorrow night. Great wine list of Sicilian wines. Be sure to book online as they were turning people away. A must dine in Ortygia.

9/10Very fresh seafood, no fishy smell at all. The portions were just the right size for the folks in our group, all age 70+. Excellent service from the owner. A straight forward and simple The restaurant is small and a bit noisy but all in all a great experience and I would go back again and again.

10/10Husband and wife manage the restaurant. The husband directs all of the service inside the restaurant and I assume that the wife is the chef. Very interesting sea food choices. They display multiple freshly caught fish on a tray for you to choose from for your dinner. We chose the lobster dinner which needed to be shared served on spaghetti. The food was delicious. Excellent evening on an side street near the main square in Siracusa. Would go back anytime!

10/10This lovely Tratorria is very well run by a family. The fish was done to perfection, tuna tartare as well, it is located in a very quiet street. The deserts, just delicious, specially the Baba and the Pistachio Tartuffo.

A lovely little restaurant in a quiet spot near the cathedral. The owner is charming and we always eat extremely well. We were able to choose our fish from a tray which was brought to our table on our arrival. Lovely atmosphere and good food. I would highly recommend it. Thank you.

10/10We were met by a very helpful host. It is a long time since we had the chance to see the catch of the day before selecting which we fancied and it was cooked beautifully (accompanied with nice local wine). If you like fish, this is the place.

10/10Unique family restaurant with the most fresh fish from the sea. The presentation was amazing and the “Pine” starter is filled with wonderful delicacies! Owners want the experience to be perfect. My wife loves fresh fish and feasted on her fish, I had the pasta, with fish, olives, tomatoes and capers, so fresh and tasty!. .

10/10Excellent restaurant all around. Although the trattoria was full on a Friday night, Francesco and the wait staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. Dishes were uniformly delicious, and the portions were just right, i.e., not too big. Would definitely return the next time we are in Siracusa.
