The food was outstanding. The catch of the day was brought to the table at the start of the meal and was clearly in the sea hours before. We had one of seven diners who was disappointed that there was only fish on the menu - not a surprise given the name, of course, but be forewarned. A bit disappointed that Francesco did not keep our wine and water glasses full and that we had to ask for dishes to be cleared, when the restaurant only had a few tables filled.

The fresh fish was the most amazing fish dish I have ever had, cooked so lovingly by Patricia! I live on the island of New Zealand so I eat plenty of fresh fish but not served in such a tasty Sicilian way. Superb! Many thanks Francesco & Patricia. Anne Marie NZ

Exactly what we had hoped for. Simple food, beautifully cooked. The freshest fish and best ingredients. The wine list had a very good range of local wines at reasonable prices. A splendid meal at a very fair price.

We arrived and were greeted by very friendly staff. The owner came over to explain the menu and ethos of the restaurant. The menu although not extensive had a good selection of fish and shellfish dishes but no meat, chicken or cheese. We opted for a simple salad and the lobster spaghetti which was absolutely delicious. The wine selection was good and we had a pistachio filo pastry dessert which was light refreshing and very moreish. The bill was exceptionally reasonable given the high standard of cooking and quality of produce as well as service.

A top quality, family run seafood restaurant minutes from the cathedral square. La Pigna offers beautifully prepared pasta and fresh fish dishes, with fine wines, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Don’t take my word, try it for yourself!

Such a simple, elegant and delicious meal! My husband and I made reservations for Sunday night, not knowing much about the restaurant. We were so delighted when the owner/server brought a tray of fresh fish and lobsters to our table to show us the catch of the day. He told about the flavors of each and we decided on a fish (I can’t remember the name!) that was white, mild and almost sweet meat. Our starter was called The Pine and it was a sampling menu of 6 or 8 typical Sicilian flavors - each was so interesting and tasty! The dessert was a Sicilian cake (lime and pistachio) and a great way to end the meal. The service was impeccable and the meal was delicious! We can’t recommend this restaurant enough for anyone who is looking for fresh seafood prepared in a typical Sicilian style.

Excellent chef. The owner is a master of cooking fresh fish with interesting ingredients. We had Sea Bass with zucchini and almonds.

The meze at the beginning was pretty good. The main course , scorpion fish, was awash with water (?) and just wasn't interesting enough. The problem for us and this trattoria was that the day before we had been to a tiny family run trattoria also in Ortigia that was outstanding. So our judgement may be jaded by that.

The wonderful display of catch of the day. The sauce with the clams was very good and advice from our waitress excellent.

The service by one of the owners was fantastic. You can tell he has pride in the quality and his wife being the chef. The fish was extremely fresh.

Mixed antipasto starter was stellar, mains (sea bass filet and pasta with fish sauce) were good. Service started out very well, but when the restaurant filled, service slowed to a crawl.

What a wonderful restaurant. A real find. We went for Sunday lunch and from the aperitifs to the starters, pasta, main course and wine everything was excellent. Charming and excellent service. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you.

Indementicabile. We enjoyed the entire meal. Unfortunately we had lunch at a winery and would have liked to be hungrier. The pasta was perfect and my husband was enamored with the Pasta alla Pigna. The fish selection is amazing and so fresh. Tables nearby were raving about the pasta with lobster. The antipasti plate was fish based and very popular. We regretted not having it so much that we have reserved again for tomorrow night. Great wine list of Sicilian wines. Be sure to book online as they were turning people away. A must dine in Ortygia.

Very fresh seafood, no fishy smell at all. The portions were just the right size for the folks in our group, all age 70+. Excellent service from the owner. A straight forward and simple The restaurant is small and a bit noisy but all in all a great experience and I would go back again and again.

Family owned intimate restaurant. The wife is the chef and the husband is out front. Small but delicious menu. Select your fresh fish for the catch of the day. Everything is prepared beautifully and is flavorful.

Husband and wife manage the restaurant. The husband directs all of the service inside the restaurant and I assume that the wife is the chef. Very interesting sea food choices. They display multiple freshly caught fish on a tray for you to choose from for your dinner. We chose the lobster dinner which needed to be shared served on spaghetti. The food was delicious. Excellent evening on an side street near the main square in Siracusa. Would go back anytime!

Disappointing food. and disrespectful service. Should have had lower expectations but the google reviews were so great, which do not reflect the food and definitely the service.
