7/10the restaurant setting is very welcoming and I liked the use of book shelves as decoration and book covers as lamp shades. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was good, but I was somehow expecting a little bit more in terms of flavour in my Lasagna- it was good but not exceptional.

5/10The food was just not good. The lasagna was overcooked and the noodles were mushy. The meatballs were extremely dry and hard to swallow. This meal was extremely disappointing. The worst meal we have had in Italy so far.

10/10We last ate here before the pandemic and were excited to return during our first post-Covid trip to Italy. My memories were spot on-everything was great-the food, the service, the setting. I highly recommend Va Mo La!

5/10We gave this a try tonight as it had some great reviews and we regret wasting our time. The food was not only basic and uninspired - it was disappointing. Presentation was not good, service was ok, but we didn’t get one of the dishes we ordered, which at the end was fine by us since the rest of the food wasn’t good. I wouldn’t waste my time - there are so many better places do enjoy in the area.

7.5/10The food overall was decent, the rabbit with mashed potatoes was excellent but the rest was just good, not much variety on the menu, some of the traditional Bologna food was missing (we went on a Friday maybe the menu was different) and the bread was a bit old. My seat wasn’t very comfortable and they told us that we need to leave by 9pm if we want to stay inside but was quite empty inside until then. Service wasn’t the best and wasn’t very attentive as they gave us the side dish a bit late and almost forgot the second dish. 7.5 is the right score in my opinion.

10/10Va Mo Lá is our favourite restaurant in Bologna and is our "go to" place whenever we visit the city. The food is consistently excellent, the service is always friendly and attentive and the prices are very reasonable. In our experience, there is nothing to fault.

10/10we decided to spend our first dinner in Italy in this place and decided to ask the waiter for recommendations. As a result, we ordered tartalone with pistachios and ricotta, tagliatelle with meat sauce, vegetable salad, and for dessert we took masquerade with chocolate and panna cotta. we were sitting outside under an awning when it started to rain, the air became clear and the atmosphere was very pleasant. 3.5/10The menu was very limited. My lasagna was burnt and tasteless. My wife's pasta was also tasteless. It said something that there wasn't one Italian in the restaurant. The only positive was that it was relatively inexpensive. I would try to be constructive but when the food offers few choices and is incompetently prepared, not much to say. At our favorite place we usually were the only foreigners.

5.5/10We were given a table between the main service areas, which was not comfortable at all but very noisy and busy, The beef tartare was good and so were our desserts but because of the noisy table in the corridor and impolite service from one of the waiters which made us feel unwelcome, I cannot unconditionally recommend this restaurant.

9.5/10Our experience at Va Mo La was excellent. The food is amazing and gives the dinner a real taste of Bologna. Our waiter was a really cool guy and very interactive. It’s a great place to eat and great value for money. And the desert and espresso to finish the meal was outstanding. We don’t get authentic Italian food like this in Australia. Loved it.

6/10Very touristy. Stale bread. Poor service with only one wait person. She did good for covering entire restaurant. Lasagna Bolognese was tasty but cooked until mushy.

8.5/10Quite an expensive place, but the quality of the dishes is up to par. Balanzoni were delicious, and the rabbit was also finely prepared. Overall positive experience for a slightly higher price than you would find in normal "good" restaurants, but worth the Insider denomination.

6/10A large restaurant in a trendy part of Bologna in what looks like a converted garage. Divided into two parts, a room at the front gives onto the street, with a larger room at the rear; We were sat in the front and on an august evening found it too hot, so I would advise asking for a table in the rear in summer. The staff spoke good English and the menu is classic, although compared to there places we ate during our stay, the portions are just huge. I skipped the 'antipasti' (luckily) and ordered a sausage pasta as a 'primi piatti' and rabbit stew as the main course. I have a healthy appetite, but one of either would have been enough for me. Although the food was of reasonable quality, I had to leave half of each and forgo desert altogether. When the waiter came for the plates he as good as admitted the portions were too big. It was like I'd ordered two main courses! I almost felt we should have been warned, as it rather spoiled what would otherwise have been a decent meal in fashionable surroundings…

9/10The atmosphere is fabulus. I love the book collections there. The recommendation of wine is just great! The owner of this restaurant is very confident about their dishes, and when he find me do not like the meat balls, he suggests change beef steak for me. But I am too full to have any more. Surprisingly, we are not billed from the meat balls and get a wine from him as a gift. Highly recommended and definitely will go there again.

10/10Always a pleasure to eat at this place! The food is outstanding, and they serves the best lasagna in Bologna!! This is my fifth time at this restaurant, and the atmosphere and the staff is always friendly! Really recommend this place if you are looking for a authentic taste of Bologna!

9.5/10This quirky but delightful restaurant has excellent food with slightly limited menu choice, but very tasty! Great ambience surrounded by bookshelves, but certainly not a library as everyone chatty and enjoying themselves! Staff and service wonderful!
