The only downside to this visit was that we were unavoidably moved to a table for 2 upstairs and so didn't really get much sense of the atmosphere of the place. But the food was excellent -- I had a genuine tagliatelle Bolognese (never, never spaghetti Bolognese, by the way, as spaghetti is to thin to hold the sauce) with a rich, unctuous ragu and additional parmigiano cheese. My second dish was duck breast served in a well reduced duck sauce on a bed of soft, creamy potato and onion... this was delicious and interesting to see duck now featuring much more on north Italian menus. My wife had a delicate flan of pumpkin, gorgonzola and toasted hazelnuts -- another gastronomic triumph -- followed by tortellini stuffed with buffalo ricotta in a butter, sage and balsamic reduction. My accompanying wine was a rich, soft cabernet sauvignon from the Veneto... another great find. This is very good traditional Bologna restaurant which I would heartily recommend.

We stumbled upon Vemolino while walking through the neighborhood and thought it looked charming and cozy from the outside. We are happy that we have finally dined here - wonderful traditional Bolognese cuisine and a simple, charming and cozy ambience… Excellent service, with a staff who warmly welcomed us and provided the perfect level of attention. We look forward to dining here again.

I relied on The Fork to guide me to a great restaurant, and they nailed it! So happy we decided to choose Vamolino. The wild boar stew was especially delicious, and the pasta! The flan! The desserts! You won’t be disappointed.

The combination of nice dishes (some very different from the traditional Bologna cuisine you find elsewhere) super cool ambience and great staff on a busy Sunday night made it memorable. Pricewise very affordable.

The restaurant is small and cozy. Service was superb, Alessandro really went above and beyond when serving me. He even brought me a sample of the Tortellini in Brodo after I had already ordered and mentioned I didn’t had the chance to taste it (this was my last night in Bologna). Couldn’t recommend more! 10/10

We really enjoyed our evening in Vamolino. Service was super and efficient and staff knew the menu well and made recommendations. The lasagne was the nicest I’ve ever had. Recommend to all and we would return. Thank you.

The food was outstanding! I had the Lasagna and it was one of the best I have ever had. The wine, salad, tiramisu, and even the espresso was outstanding!

Food was good but small portions not matching the price. And the main course salad was just green leafs with a twirl of fennel and carrot - more a side dish and definitely not worth 14 €. Personal was also nice but quickly lost the overview as the restaurant was filling up and the kitchen took long to serve main dishes containing so simply a salad and meat balls. Seems to be a new restaurant so hopefully with a bit of adjustment it will be very good - the base is there.

We had the wild boar stew and lasagne. We both found the food tasty and authentic with great wine (Sangiovese) to boot! We both had a great time and would thoroughly recommend. 😀🇮🇹

A cute little dinner spot off the busy streets of Bologna, it’s a wine specialist too and does traditional dishes very well. Definitely worth visiting on a trip

We arrived early, but our table was ready. This was a great restaurant and most importantly the food was exceptional. Too many places are tourist traps but this wasn’t one of them. Our waitress was exceptionally helpful in her recommendations. I accepted them, and I was very satisfied.

Really relaxed place, easy going ambience and amazingly fresh food on small menu. The tagliatelle with truffle was utterly superb and their take on Crème Caramel so delicious. Definitely a place to visit, relax, eat and enjoy.

This restaurant is very good, The food is really well done with good ingredients and the wine by glass is also great. Not a big menu, just right. The service is great, quick and efficient. Book online, it gets full very quickly. Enjoy!

I'm travelling solo and the waiter was lovely and accommodating. I ate early (I'm Australian, I'm starving by 7pm) so can't comment on the ambience when it's busy. There were no more than a few tables full while I was there. The food was delicious. I'd been waiting to eat lasagne in Bologna and it did not disappoint. Mouth watering. Had a glass of Sangiovese with it, yum. Finished with the deconstructed cheesecake - light and tasty. If I were living in Bologna, I'd be a regular.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Risoelatte. So nice to have such different choices from the usual fare. We loved the use of milk in the risottos, so creamy and full of flavour. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Nice simple restaurant with not many tables and good food. The selection of the wines should be better, also the wine list was printed many days ago and need to be replaced.

Food was blind, with all the variety around it was surprising to have tagliatelle in broth from concentrate, and the most expensive dish on the menu - duck breast - was simply lacking flavor. Even a little salt would make it better, and the spinach garnish was definitely from a frozen pack. service was underwhelming, with plates literally thrown at the table, and the server would run away before you can ask for a glass of wine. Such a lackluster!
