We've been to this restaurant twice now and have had excellent meals and service each time. It is just around the corner off of the craziness of Via Maqueda, and it is clearly the place that locals frequent. Pictures on the walls show how the place has evolved over the years as well as how it is still steeped in tradition. It is so easy to find 50 places on Via Maqueda that are all serving the same food, but I would urge you to take the time and explore around the corner of Via Venezia. Highly recommended!

Vossia was my first meal in Sicily, so I had little to go on. I am, however, a former Michelin chef and a fairly knowledgeable and adventuresome eater. My principal interest these days is in the pairing of foods and wines. (Though it would pointless in terms of my career, I am thinking strongly of undertaking the Master of Wine course, just for my own edification.) This makes it a bit difficult to write reviews for you, becuase you want no mention of alcohol. Suffice to say that Fossia has a good wine list and knowledgeable staff who are helpful and accommodating. I had a wonderful lunch of pasta with sardine sauce (a classic) and a crisp Sicilian white that I had not heard of before but enjoyed very much. A very pleasant start to eight days of food and wine in Sicily.

+2Very helpful waitstaff who could tell us the ingredients of the dishes so we could avoid lactose. The food was very flavorful. We loved the sardine polpette, the caponata, and the misto fritto. The pastas were also excellent especially the pistacchio pesto and fennel sausage, and the prawns w pistacchio pesto.

We Felt immurged in Palermo with this experience and the atmosphere. The food was exceptional and very tasty. Our waiter recommended a wine from the region that was excellent. We would definitely go back and recommend it.

Excellent food! My wife and I enjoyed the lobster with pasta, fried calamari and spinach very much with Sicilian white wine. I would like to recommend Vossia to all of my friends.

Pasta was incredible and the tiramisu! Staff were very friendly and welcoming!

It was ok, we had a pleasant steak which was ok value with the Fork discount. Staff seemed a bit jaded and unenthusiastic, fed up with tourists maybe? Our meal at Nova the night before was much more fun.

Staff were accommodating and friendly however we were sat outside on a busy side road off the Main Street. If you sit inside it would be more ambient. Food seemed fresh, but not wowing.

Food was good. Service terribly slow. Very noisy, very hot, did not have air conditioning on.

Regarding the temperature, there was certainly a reason why the air conditioning was not on. Next time, feel free to ask the staff to turn it on, and they will surely be happy to accommodate your request.

The food was pretty good. The service was really really bad. We had a reservation, and when we arrived, there was only one other occupied table in the restaurant. Yet it was 12 minutes (from the time that we got impatient and started timing) before anyone came to our table. We asked 3 times for waters before we got anything. Then when other tables started coming in, it was really over at that point and became impossible to get anything from another bottle of wine to, god forbid, water refills.

Great food and service. We had fish and also mixed chopping board and all was delicious. Staff super helpful and professional!

Thought the restaurant was a bit overpriced, and the waiter didn’t know how to explain us about the wines. They didn’t mark the allergens in the menu and my partner had an allergic reaction, the staff didn’t seem too bothered about that. Booked with a The Fork discount and they didn’t give it until i asked (after already getting the bill). Didn’t have a bad experience per se, but wouldn’t come back.

Booked one person reservation by mistake. On arrival at the restaurant we were very rudely treated almost as if we were committing a crime. Left with being seated. Don’t recommend

Inside ambiance was fine, nicely decorated, but somewhat noisy. Outdoor dining on elevated decks was fine, but no street atmosphere surrounding this area.

very busy so maybe why we waited to be given menu after sat down for nearly 10 minutes, had to remind waiters we had ordered bottle of water and aperitif's. food ok but Caesar salad way too much dressing. Slightly underwhelming....
