Last dinner in Sicily and very dissappoiting experience. Visited Vuciata on recommendation, therefore overlooked the fact that there were no locals and not even a single italian speaking client in a sitting room which is never a good sign. First mistake was when taking the wine - we always opt for a full body red, having in mind Nero d'Avola, but this time the waiter was quicker and suggested Etna donnafugata wine which we have never tried before and agreed with suggestion out of curiosity. The full-bodiness was not here but Ok, such differences in taste happen. Drama came with the food - both pasta's (we took Norma and one with artichokes) were overcooked Norma was burried under some sort of ketchup with few pieces of burnt eggplant on the top, it came already lukewarm and because for some reason was served at the same time as antipasti - was even more cold by the time when it was supposed to be eaten. Fish soup was a heap of clams and shrimps that got totally cold by the time one reached some liquid beneath - and were without flavour. Small ray of sunshine were antipasti - not salada siciliana, where chiliegine were same taste as in Belgian supermarket, but sarde a beccafico and caponata were decent. Another positive moment was when the waiter - pleasant young man in general - did not charge us for any of pastas which we left as unedible.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our Airbnb hosts and we couldn’t fault it. We both had pasta, one with prawns and fennel, the other with pistachio sauce, both were lovely. House wine in a carafe was great and we forced in a tiramisu even though we were really full.

We loved the ambiance and delicious pasta dishes, served quickly and efficiently. The location was perfect and easy to find.

This restaurant was referred to by a Sicilian as a nice place for lunch during the fish market or for dinner. We had dinner there and it was great. My husband and I had the fresh tuna steak with potatoes and my kids the veal with spaghetti and tomato sauce. The white local wine was also delicious

I wouldn’t know since The Fork allowed me to book a reservation for yesterday, June 20th, when the restaurant isn’t even open on Tuesdays! Please make sure to update your app to follow the schedule of this restaurant as well as all others you support.

Restaurant has amazing food. For me, the highlight was the pasta’s mix of ingredients cooked to perfection. All the other dishes were very tasty as well. The staff are welcoming and ambience is unique as well. Finally, prices are moderate. See you next time!

We were recommended this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Polite staff, great food and the ambiance was good too. The restaurant is set in the busy area of the fish market which is an experience in itself (a good one). This is clearly a busy restaurant so booking would be advisable.

Seafood was bad. Fish was not fresh. Salad was not good either as the mozzarella was not fresh (most likely refrozen). Pasta plate was good so if I knew I would only get pasta at this place. Very touristy place, I would not recommend.

Sitting under the famous umbrellas of Catania. The food was nice, fresh fish and a really delicious pasta alla norma. The service was good, a bit slow for coffee and the bill, but the place was super busy around that time… nothing too bad.

Great service, attention to detail and passion in choosing products, lovely atmosphere. All in all a great experience. You should go at around 9pm to experience the full flair of the place.

Nice restaurant in a fantastic location. Good staff and quality of service. Starters were great, mains were fine but grill could have been better

Fried seafood platter was very good, as was the pasta with squid ink and the pasta all Norma though it had too much sauce, but the pasta wirh bottarga was bland and the bottarga did not come through at all. Mains- the pesce spada involtini and the grilled spada were both very good. Order the house white- its a white from Etna and more than serviceable. The cannolo is excellent. Overall, well worth it.

Very nice place and lovely atmosphere framed by the colourful umbrellas (perfect for a memorable pic). Food was great and traditional but well presented. Very close to the Duomo as well so you can have a nice walk afterwards. A must I believe for tourist but even local! Well worth it!
