10/10This was SUCH a special experience. The space is beneath the street and is beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and perfectly…. fancy without being too much, if that makes sense. And the food!! Creative but recognizable, perfectly portioned and absolutely delicious. We hs to fly out early the next morning and didn’t spend as much time with them as possible but it was an absolutely brilliant evening.

9.5/10Based on our meal and experience, Wein & Sein, with a single Michelin star, is grossly underrated! Each course in the menu reflected perfection in presentation and taste. The creativity demonstrated and complexity achieved in every dish was brilliant!

Wein & Sein is a must for any food lover visiting Bern. The restaurant received a Michelin Star in 2022 and was given 15 points by Gault Millau. Needless to say, these high praises are well deserved. We went with the five-course dinner. This included a few "snacks" from the kitchen, including beef tartar and trout ceviche. After the snacks came an amuse bouche consisting of a veal sausage from Northern Spain with mushrooms and coconut foam. The bigger courses consisted of Halibut, ravioli, and Dexter beef. 1000 characters is not nearly enough to describe each dish and the intricacies and culinary genius that went into crafting them. Not to mention the beautiful, rare wines that were paired with each dish. Be prepared to spend money, but ever penny was worth it. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere was immaculate. The entire experience was special, and one that I hope to have again one day. Thank you to everyone at Wein & Sein for the amazing meal!

10/10The food and service was incredible. The wine pairing complimented each dish so well. I loved that they would provide a taste of the wine and you could skip any of the glasses you didn't prefer (spoiler, they were all fantastic so no glass was skipped!). The restaurant is very cozy with only 9 tables so the service was top notch to go with the food and ambience. I hope to go back again some day.

10/10we are a family of four and all of us loved this experience. It was a feast for the senses - food and wine pairings were wonderful. Our host Daniela was truly excellent - very professional, lovely and an expert on wine. We also met the chef and servers delivered and described all courses. Relaxing and not pretentious - loved the intimate small rooms and interior design of the "cellar". We were there 3 hours and enjoyed every minute. Very special evening and highly recommend.

10/10My review will be in English—feel free to translate if necessary/preferred. Our experience at Wein & Sein was phenomenal. I am always a little bit skeptical of very high-end restaurants and whether they are worth the hype and hefty price tag, but everyone here made us feel so welcome and like we were the only diners there—a truly personal experience. Although we’d initially planned to just do the basic 4 courses, we enjoyed the food and experience so much that we ended up doing the full 6 courses. The wine pairing, though it is pricey, truly makes the experience because otherwise you miss out on the hostess/owner’s expertise. I was blown away by each pairing and how much it lifted and complemented each course. And her passion for the wines and their sourcing—telling the story of each—made the experience more impactful. We could have stayed all night. And I doubt it needs to be said, but the food is 10/10, superb. Some of the best single bites of food I’ve ever eaten. I didn’t even wince when we paid the bill because it felt so worth it. If you can manage it, visit this little place. You will not regret it!

8/10The service and attention were exceptional, and the presentation of the dishes equally beautiful. The food was fine; nothing that wowed us. We opted for the wine pairing, but elected red only. We were very happy with the wine selections. Though we aren’t compelled to return, we do recommend it to others for the tasting experience. The pricing, we felt, was more expensive by about 25% than what we’ve experienced at other restaurants with more compelling tasting menus.

9/10This restaurant is beyond our expectations. The food tastes really good, and presentation is beautiful. It is located in the town center and not far from the iconic clock. The people who work in this restaurant are very nice and friendly. It is amazing that chef and his team cook so well within a very small kitchen. We will definitely come back to this restaurant if there is a chance to visit Bern. This restaurant does a great jon!

8.5/10Very good food and service and extremely accommodating for vegetarians. Interesting combination of flavors and inventive presentations. However, they charged us 9 franks for each bottle of still tap water. That was pretty weird. Also wine parings were very good but again way too expenive for the small portions.

6.5/10Very disappointing dining experience, mediocre food and services, and quite expensive. We also felt cheated as they charged us $45 for water, but all we saw was a big water jar they used to refill our glasses, never the 5 bottles of water we supposedly consumed. We don't mind paying for what we ordered, but this just left us with a very sour taste. Avoid it if you can.
