Service was not very good, literally had to get up from table to ask for service (once to get drinks, again to order food, again to ask for salt n pepper, etc.) despite the restaurant being empty and 3/4 servers just standing around talking. Food was ok, not great.

Lovely spot. The food was excellent especially the pizzas from the wood fired oven. I would highly recommend the home made passion fruit and mango cheesecake to finish your dinner. Service was quick and very friendly.

Having just arrived in Portugal we were looking to eat out on our first night. Welwitschia was recommended to us for its variety of dishes. The chicken pasta dish that my husband fancied was excellent and the lamb that I ordered was delicious and cooked just right. Will definitely be visiting again!

The food was great and the menu had a lot of options. It was apparent that this must be a local hang out for expats. It was worth going past the main drag for a bite.

It took a while to get taken to a table, which had been booked. The menus arrived, but we had to ask for them; then after requesting one, a wine menu arrived. The starters were good, then main course:- Cannelloni was average; prawn risotto was OK; lamb was ok but sauce unacceptable; lamb shank overcooked, vegetables just seemed like fried onions, mushrooms and peppers- not really my idea of veg! We had to ask for condiments, and aftrrwsrds … three times for the bill!
