After spending 3 months in Murcia, we were looking for some good Japanese food and found Xiximu online. The location is very convenient in downtown Murcia, just a few minutes walk from El Corte Ingles and from the Plaza Circular. The restaurant is small but cozy. The menu is extensive, with a wide range of starters, mains, and desserts. The service was excellent, as was the food.; there are two Estrella de Levante beers on tap and a good selection of wines — plus sparkling sake, which was a first for us. Xiximu is a perfect example of a hidden gem that deserves to be better known. I encourage you to give it a try.

The welcome in the restaurant was pleasant, but was immediately disturbed by the running around of two small children of the owners, who were themselves very friendly. We ordered a whole range of different dishes, many of which were sushi. However, as far as we were concerned (as avid fans of Japanese food), its preparation had nothing to do with sushi. The rice was extremely wet and also way too sweet. A number of subsequent dishes were also nothing to write home about. In our opinion, the Japanese dishes that were prepared by the Chinese owners had nothing to do with Japanese food. The children running around for a long time, chased by their parents, unfortunately did not contribute to a very pleasant stay, so we asked for the bill for the dishes eaten so far and left early.
