The restaurant is a bit hard to find. Although we enjoyed the sushi and the gyoza a lot, the ambiance was off. The ambiance and the quality of the food does not match properly. The sitting area is a bit small and not well vantilated.

I am looking at the photos and compare them with what was presented to us tonight and I am wondering if they are from a different restaurant. Because it was them in combination with the enthusiatic reviews that made us choose this place for the closing dinner of our city trip. We were very disappointed. The sitting area is at the back of the store (you have to walk through the kitchen/take away pick-up area and the washing dishes area (?) to reach it and there's no ventilation except a very small window. No visible dissenfecting, tables next to each other (we were only asked if we were with symptoms). When we ordered one of the 4 chef's specialties for two, we were told that it 'they have run out of it'. Weird! I thought that sushi is prepared fresh per order. Only 1 of the 4 specials was available and when it arrived it was nothing special. No presentation, no flavor to justify all the reviews we had read. And at the same time, we were hearing people sitting next to us ordering from the menu only to be told a bit later 'sorry, we run out of that'. Drinks are sake, coke (absolutely unsuitable with a Japanese menu) and some Japanese beer and soft drinks. And no, the price was not a 'bargain'. So, now you know exactly what to expect from this place and the choice is all yours. (Maybe we visited on a bad day.)

Don’t order the standard choices, but give Yuki a ‘carte blanche’ to prepare sushi with the fresh and unique ingredients he has that day. We did, and it was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like Japanese-style sushi.

We booked last minute, Restaurant was not obvious we walked stright past once and on entering it looked rather small until we found there was a back room but the food was excellent!! I visit Japan twice year so have the luxury of tasting really good Sushi on a regular basis and this was really very good. All my family enjoyed it including my daughter who is at the best fussy when it comes to eating anything that comes out of the sea!!!

We went for dinner at 1830 on a Friday night. The restaurant was about 25% full. Not sure why as the food and service were equally great. Will definitely go back.

The 21-course sushi menu (must be booked in advance!) is a veritable tour de force which lets Yuki-san showcase his creativity and his mastery of flavour. It'd be hard to pick a favourite, but highlights of the bonanza included a delicious monkfish liver paté, mouth-watering o-toro, delicately grilled A5 Wagyu, and applewood-smoked red mullet. The food just keeps on coming, and every single nigiri expertly combines top-notch ingredients to hit the right note. Overall, this was well worth both the price tag and the trip to Leiden. In fact, it was easily the best sushi experience I've had in the Netherlands so far. If you prefer to stick to the more familiar, classic-style sushi then I might recommend going somewhere else such as Morikawa in Den Haag. But if you have an open mind, let Daisuke Yuki take you on a flight of fancy. You'll thank me later.

Great cozy place with excellent service and friendly staff. We loved their "Poppy crusted tuna sashimi" (nr. 15) and the "Coquille met wasabi salsa" (nr. 16).
