Edwin, the proprietor, is passionate about wine, very knowledgeable about the wines on offer and charges a reasonable price for the bottles he sells.

I always go here, best little restaurant ( wine bar actually. ) in Barcelona. We order jamón bellota, ensalada rusa ( potato salad, olives and cokes padron ( not hot). We get the owner to help us order a glass of wine. When I’m in Barcelona, I go here each third day. That is big! We were here 37 days five months ago.

Not to be missed if you enjoy delicious, local wines, yummy tapas, and fantasticCustomer Service. My husband and I had the pleasure of tasting six different wines chosen by the owner. The wines were all local, unique and delicious. We also had the local tapas recommended by the owner and possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had. We purchased six bottles to bring home with us. Thank you so much for the memorable experience.

It's a wine shop and casual wine bar, great for exploring unique wines from around Spain, especially Catalonia. The food is simple but good. However, wine plays the leading role here.

We were in Barcelona 8 months and found this restaurant on the Fork. We live in Mexico. I am American, he is Mexican. I had done a Masters Degree in Spanish literature in Salamanca many years ago, and was first introduced to bellota ham ( from acorn fed pigs) at a young age. He thought he didn’t like “prosciutto “ like ham. It was was love at first bite for him last year in this restaurant. We could t wait to return . I read several reviews where people complained about the hostile owner . He is not hostile if you know how to approach him. Americans go I to restaurants, shops, grocery stores and say , I want …… in Europe that is considered very rude. In both Spain and France, and I think Italy too, one is expected to acknowledge the person serving them as a person. When he came up take our order, and he does look a bit grumpy , I said , Hello, good evening , we are so happy to be back, we loved our food here last year! We ate here three times. We would like a, b, and c, and could you help me pick a wine by the glass to accompany that, because this restaurant is famous for its great wines and you will know better than I which wine would best accompany what we ordered. He knocked himself out for us! The food is simple, we order the bellota ham ( generous size serving) La ensalada Russian salad, it’s been called that fir 50 years that I know of , it’s just potato salad, but menus in Spain never say that, and thus Americans miss out in it, and it’s so good with the bellota ham and tomato bread and the padrón peppers, if you haven’t had them , thinking they are spicy, think again, they are a delicious accomplishment to every Spanish meal. Not hot, just flavorful. The bellota ham melts in your mouth. We had two different wines and were both very happy with what he chose for us after he asked , do you like full body? Are you good with very dry, etc. As we paid, he and his assistant both mentioned they remembered from the year before. We’ve eaten there two times this time, he was not there the first time we went. Don’t let the naysayers put you off, it’s a great little, quiet restaurant.

We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed fresh and original tapas here. We were a group of 10 people, and were well-looked after. It is both a wine shop and restaurant, you can buy your bottle of wine and pay a small corkage fee. We recommend this place.

Best place for bellota ham, accompanied with burrata mozzarella and tomatoes, tomato bread, padrón peppers and the best wine by the glass you can imagine! All at very reasonable prices! In a back alley sort of tiny street in gothic quarter, near las ramblas. Don’t miss it! We have been twice in three days.

We enjoyed the wine offered, but it appears if you ask for a recommendation and you go with it they charge you € 5 to open the bottle on top of paying €36 for it.Food was ok but the bread sticks/biscuits with the cheese dish tasted stale.

A few tables on the terrace for early birds A nice option is to buy an entire bottle and get it served rather than bying wine by glasses
