10/10Just delicious! Wonderful service from the owners. Try all of the specials! Our group of 9 with children was treated with care. Special accommodations were given for our picky eaters. Can’t wait to go back!

10/10Lovely small and very Italian restaurant with the most friendly service and adorably authentic food. On the expensive side but well worth it. Nice and geographically wide selection of moderately priced Italian wines several of which are not usually offered in restaurants out of Italy. Warmly recommended.

10/10The restaurant is authentic Italian with Italian cooks and staff. It was very welcoming and homey. And the waiter was extremely nice and helpful. The food was amazing! We loved this place and highly recommend it.

6.5/10Everything was okay but not more than this. The choice was too limited. Only 3 second courses with no fish option, and only tiramisu and gelato for desert, for example.

10/10This restaurant was AMAZING! We had a house red that was exquisite. They made me a dietary specific meal that was the BEST pasta I’ve ever eaten. The food is delicious and the service is very attentive. With such a pleasant and warming atmosphere

10/10Awesome little Italian restaurant; great host/waiter which serves excellent food + good wine. A la carte menu with few daily off-menu specialties. Prices are a slightly above normal , but quality & authenticity also above normal!

9.5/10What a hidden gem! This tiny Italian restaurant has all homemade products…bread, pasta, and desserts! Our appetizer of eggplant Parmesan was probably the best I’ve ever eaten! Our pasta was perfect and delicious! The wine list is small, but a great variety from Italy. Highly recommend this Italian restaurant!

9.5/10This is not your average Italian restaurant. No pizza but the kind of dishes you could imagine mothers making for the family for special occasions. Neither of us had tasted our disches before and they were both excellent. Wine was also good as were the deserts . Overall a little pricey but worth it

10/10Al Bacaro oozes Italian hospitality: through the food, the people and the ambience. True hospitality is rarely found these days, but at cosy Al Bacaro you instantly feel at home. The menu is mouthwatering and the owner allowed us to taste several wines so we could choose the one we liked. One of us had a bad cold and before we knew it a ginger and lemon tea with lemon appeared on the table. Gorgeous food and warm hospitality, we highly recommend.

9.5/10I am Italian and make Italian food regularly. I almost never go to an Italian restaurant because I am frequently disappointed. We have been going here for 5 years and never a bad meal!! Last night I had pasta with sausage and fresh truffles. The pasta was fresh, not dried and perfect!! The pate was house made and outstanding, and lamb delicious!! The Italian regionsl wines have always been excellent!!

10/10This was a great place for our last night in Amsterdam. Food delicious and prepared in front of our eyes, service attentive and personal. This place is almost hidden on a busy street. Easy to find, yes, I recommend it if you like lovely Italian food

10/10Fabulous meal - on par with what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant in Italy. And I’m Italian. And very fussy about real Italian food. Highly recommended. Their tiramisu is to die for. And the sausage Ragu spaghetti are heavenly.

10/10We really enjoyed our dinner at Al Bacaro. It’s our favorite Italien restaurant in Amsterdam. We had a great cheese and meat platter as a starter. Together with a salad made of swordfish, fennel and oranges. It was so delicious! The spaghetti vongole were also great. Fresh made pasta ! The deserts are also made in heaven… we have been eating in the restaurant multiple times and the food and service were always outstanding! A hidden gem in Amsterdam!

9.5/10Second time here: food is absolutely delicious, staff is superfriendly and the place is cosy. Quite a bill but that was because of the 3 bottles of wine (with 2 people ????). Just go there!

8.5/10Nice little restaurant, situated in a rather non-descript part of Amsterdam. Informal, family atmosphere. The service was excellent and very friendly. We only had two pasta dishes which were quite good, and although the vegetarian option was a bit bland, the ingredients were fresh and the dishes were well executed. Small but interesting selection of wines. All in all, a pleasant experience.
