Great Indian restaurant in Amsterdam. We had samosas for starter. It was great. We had chicken biryani, the spice and the taste of the rice were really balanced and great. Will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

We visited Amsterdam in 2021 and loved everything about the Ashoka. We could not stop thinking about and talking about it to friends and family, so we returned to Amsterdam in April 2025 and couldn’t wait to have dinner again. We Enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant! Excellent!!!

We really enjoyed our visit to Ashoka. Service was impeccable. We had the 3 course chef menu. We were able to choose the spice level for each dish. The food was delicious, although we're not fans of tofu. Our servers were very attentive and genuinely wanted to ensure everything was satisfactory. The trip up and down the spiral staircase to visit the restrooms might be a bit unnerving if you've had a few drinks. We'd love to return again.

It's an upmarket Indian restaurant. The food is good, but we didn't feel it was forth the price difference with a good indian restaurant. The service was slow at first: had to ask for the food menu, the drinks took time to arrive. The atmosphere is very nice though, good light, romantic and classy. All in all a good experience but again not worth the price

Nice restaurant with a great vibe. Excellent service, great cocktails. We ordered the vegetarian combo and found that the dishes all tasted more or less the same whereas we were expecting more flavor differentiation. Perhaps this wasn’t the best choice. The restaurant was highly recommended to us by friends so we may give it another try if we return to Amsterdam.

Our favorite Indian restaurant in the world! We travel a lot and always seek out an Indian restaurant wherever we go. We use Asoka food as a guide and nothing has come close to how good Ashoka curries. Service and ambience are top notch as well. Highly recommend when you are in Amsterdam to give it a try. Even if you thought you don’t like Indian, this place will convert you to an Indian food lover!
