10/10We had a perfect evening at De Silveren Spiegel. We had the 6 course tasting menu with the accompanying wines. Everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The service was warm and welcoming. It was expensive but memorable and worth it!

10/10We booked De Silveren Spiegel whilst on a weekend break to Amsterdam. My wife and I decided that instead of buying each other unnecessary Christmas presents we would treat ourselves to a special meal. I booked after reading very positive reviews and all I can say is wow! From the facade of the restaurant to the welcome from staff, we knew we had made the right choice. Each course had that magical touch without the overt drama other high end establishments try to bring. The scallop course was described by my wife as the most amazing thing she had ever eaten and I would struggle to disagree. The only downside? 8 courses with generous measures of wine pairing made the steep stairs down from the first floor a little tricky! If in Amsterdam, please try De Silveren Spiegel. You will not be disappointed.

10/10Excellent choice for high end dining. Thoughtful service, quality and innovative cuisine along with traditional ambiance make for a delightful experience. Dinner will take several hours, but well worth the time.

4/10There is a steep stair to the 2nd floor dining area. There is no air conditioning and the room is stagnant. The floor is crooked and the tables are not level. Prix fixe only and no a la carte option even though we asked for one. No amount of pride and smiles could turn bad tasting, self important food into good food. We smiled too but left hungry, furious about the bill, lack of menu options and feeling completely taken advantage of.

Dear Hillary, We are very disappointed to hear that you have not enjoyed your dinner last night. You must understand that our guests are usually very satisfied with the food and the portions (the same menu as well). Also your comments about our beautiful old building (historical monument) is something we hear for the first time, the stairs and floors are typical for this kind of building. Although it might be written on the Michelin guide website like that, we are not able to adjust it since they write there own reviews. We think they mean a “modern a la carte” in the way of the sort of kitchen we have. We exclusively serve the chefs menu on Fridays and Saturdays. (This is also presented on the menu at the Fork website). You have selected the 8 course menu on the Fork website yourself and received a confirmation with this information. There was no option to select a la carte. We think it is not very honest to stay for dinner and then complain afterwards when you have been told that we only serve our menu. You could have left the restaurant. If you had told us that you found the portions to small we could have done something about it right away. We have asked several times if everything was okay and you gave us a gratuity of 46 euro as well. We believe that this could easily be avoided by more research in advance and that we didnt have done you wrong in anyway. And that the dislike of the food is a personal taste, not something we can do anything about. Then you wouldn’t have liked the a la carte menu as well. Again we are very sorry that it was not up to your expectations.

10/10Foodies from Florida and we saved the best for last on our week long drinking and dining get away. The presentation of each course was thoughtful and inventive, the flavors and quality of each bite were impeccable. I really can’t imagine a better meal then the 7 course masterpiece we had tonight. Place has incredible charm and atmosphere as well

10/10They were super accomodating for our 2 little dogs. The food was superb, beautifully presented and delicious. We took the 6 course menu with wine accompaniment but we were too stuffed to indulge in the dessert cart even though it was really enticing. Worth every penny1

10/10Phenomenal! We have dined at the best restaurants around the world. De Silverin Spiegel is added to our list of top five! We very much enjoyed the low key atmosphere, warm hospitality and the true welcome and appreciation of guests. The chef, son of the owners, is a star! The sommelier, Dad, knows his stuff and Mom knows how to put you at ease. 41 years in business! Each and every course was amazing… it was hard to pick a favourite. I am not a big fan of sole, mussels or quail, but we would happily enjoy again! The preparation and fusion of sauces and flavours was always a surprise. Guest around us were as astounded! One group from the UK and the other Germany, were singing the praises of the restaurant. All wanted to meet the chef. Congratulations… I expect soon we will learn that this is truly the best restaurant in Amsterdam. We will see… as we are eating at what is considered the best on Tuesday! Look forward to joining them again in next visits to Amsterdam. Thank you! ????????

9.5/10A true Amsterdam Gem. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great alternative dining experience. A restaurant located at a historical venue with very amicable staff, a great chef, and quality food that is definitely worthy of a Michelin star. Wine pairings could be improved.

10/10We had an amazing food experience in this restaurant! We went for the 7 course Duck menu and it was great. Definitely Michelin deserving (the restaurant was recommended by Micheline dining in 2022). Our server Chris was very good and the wine pairing he proposed was very nice! As foodies we recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly!

10/10My wife and I went to the restaurant, which is just opposite to our hotel. The building is 400 years old. The staff are warm and welcome us. We choose the 5 course menu and the food is very delicious with good presentation. The speed of serving is good as we can finish the dinner within 1.5 hour. A walk near the restaurant after the dinner is very nice.

10/10Amazing, amazing food!!!! Was the best meal of our trip! So quaint with lots of history. The house was built in the 1600! Wow, wow. Having never been to Amsterdam, it’s a must do.

10/101 person did the 8 course with wine, others did 5 course, it was all good, with wines that I was not familiar with. Definatly combines tastes that one would not think could work
