7.5/10We went to Estimar with a big deal of anticipation based on the reviews. Aware of higher prices but an enjoyable experience that was not to be. The food was good on the starters but really dropped on the seconds. I ordered a sole that came cold and not completely clean. At that moment, the appreciation for the higher prices tumbled down. Not an experience worth trying.

5/10Food was good but the service was not. For the price you would expect top quality service. Server was distracted, not attentive. Staff was not friendly. My first bad experience in Barcelona. Lots of better places to spend the evening.

8/10We booked a table at Estimar Barcelona on Saturday evening with high expectations based on their website & generally speaking, very good reviews. The food was excellent, the ambiance appealing, the wine list comprehensive, however, the service was terrible. I worked in the restaurant industry for 30 years (high end caliber) & the manager & server at Estimar were unattentive & boreline rude. We asked for them to explain the menu, as I was traveling with a less sophisticated diner. The server couldn't do this (or wouldn't do this), so the Manager took over. He rushed through the menu, appearing to be frustrated with us. It was very unprofessional & frankly, unpleasant. We ordered the John Dory (99 euros for the entire fish), red gambas & side dishes, and two appetizers. We spent 46 euros on a nice bottle of Albarino/Godello. The bill was over 150 euros & honestly, we wouldn't go back based on the way that we were treated alone.

6.5/10Disappointing. Nothing compared to what it once was 4 years ago when we last visited. The menu and the taste this time was good but super mediocre to what we expected from estimar. And the service by one lady was made worse, we paid the price of a 5-star restaurant but gotten a worse service than other local places. Felt almost like she was splashing wine, throwing plates with no gentleness or a friendly face, which felt really unpleasant . But the rest of the crew who didn’t serve us was good. It was just her. And the mediocre food that didn’t worth the price.

10/10Fantastic restaurant!! A must go when in Barcelona. Delicious and fresh seafood options, but the wagyu beef and the rubia gallega were out of this world as well, so good! I ordered about 4 times the brioche with caviar, even for dessert. Fantastic just fantastic! Just Go! You wont be disappointed.

8.5/10This is my second time in this restaurant. The food is very tasty. The service is good but the air conditioner didn't work and it was very very hot. This made it very difficult to relax in the restaurant comfortably.

10/10Fantastic meal at Estimar, loved being able to see the seafood before ordering, selecting our own items as well. Traditional items like the Gilda are so well elevated. Prices are very high, I wasn’t sure if I was charged correctly, 3 medium sized gambas came up to €75, a while a whole grilled fish was €99 euros. But can’t fault the food, it was excellent.

4/10Fresh seafood but the dishes are simple and overpriced for what you get. You may think that's a fine dining experience when looking at the price range, but nothing that will blow your mind there. We wouldn't recommend it. Barcelona has a lot of better places for a 250 Euros bill (for two).

En una hermosa callejuela del Born de las que parecen recién salidas de un cuento de hadas hallamos esta joya que apuesta por el mejor producto del mar. Un local pequeño, cuya reforma ha mantenido los elementos originales, de aire contemporáneo, sobrio y elegante sin perder ese toque informal que a menudo nos hace olvidar que nos encontramos ante un restaurante de alta cocina. Y es que Estimar ha sido, y con razón, una de las aperturas más sonadas de la Barcelona de los últimos años. Es ese restaurante íntimo y agradable, tanto para una cena de pareja como para una celebración familiar, un lugar con un servicio impecable y una cocina excepcional que responde a la inteligente máxima de menos es más, a veces tan cara de ver en la ciudad.
El chef andaluz Rafa Zafra regenta Estimar como si fuese su propia casa, pues el comedor y la cocina están totalmente integrados, y lo hace con una filosofía inequívoca: producto, producto y más producto. Y es que, pese a su juventud, el chef ha pasado por los fogones de establecimientos de gran nivel, que van desde Arzak a La Terraza del Casino. Numerosos años alejado de su Sevilla natal que le infirieron, si cabe, un amor aún mayor por los productos de su tierra y por la gastronomía andaluza, en especial la marinera. En su Estimar, Zafra escoge el mejor pescado entre los mejores y lo presenta prácticamente desnudo, sin adulterar, tratado de la mejor de las maneras, dejando que hable por sí solo y que el comensal descubra un universo de matices hasta el momento desconocido.
¿Qué pedir? Las navajas son de otro planeta, lo mismo que el tartar de gambas con caviar iraní.
