10/10We had a blast at the restaurant! The service is great, and the food is awesome. The quality of the sushi, especially, is impressive. I loved being greeted with towels and thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese plum wine. This restaurant is definitely going on my hidden gem list, and I’ll be going back for sure. They were very considerate about my requests too. Loved it.

9.5/10Fourth time in this restaurant in 2 years. The service and food quality are solidly superb. The menu is extensive, the food gets out quickly, the presentation is sophisticated and the taste excellent. The atmosphere is elegant, the staff is pleasant and speaks perfect English. The only less positive point is that the noise level can be high

10/10Outstanding Japanese restaurant. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and very helpful. They provided some great advice regarding their menu and as each course was presented, they explained what was on the plate and even advised on what order to eat everything. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The restaurant was also well decorated and comfortable and created an enjoyable ambience that suited the great food and service. I would definitely recommend. For international travellers, the staff also spoke excellent English.

10/10Mr. Lam and his team have done a fantastic job of serving the customers from start to finish. Friendly greeting, quick service, cozy ambience, pretty plating, delicious food, plenty of libations. 1 beer, three glasses of resiling, miso soup, karaage fried chicken, 2x crispy duck wraps, gyoza, shrimp tempura, kimchi chicken, fried noodles, cheese cake. All yummy and just €125. We had a wonderful dining experience and yes. Thank you for having us :) will return and will recommend. Keep up the great work.

10/10I ordered a Mojito and they didn’t have the ingredients. That was the only flaw in the entire experience. Service, food & ambiance was worth the visit.

9.5/10Exceptionally good food. Superb sushi, tempura, meat and fish dishes. It’s a bit pricey but but definitely not overpriced considering the quality of the food. A small gem in Amsterdam.

10/10We had an amazing dinner with lovely service and a beautiful atmosphere. The sushi was the best we ever had. Our favourite was the ebi tower and the pumpkin sushi (vegetarian sushi are not on the menu). Thank you so much!

8/10Gluten-free sushi options available although only a few staff members were able to inform us about gluten content. No separate gluten-free menu. Very nice to see Toro on the menu, it was a real pity that it was not prepared correctly,

9/10Extensive menu, great quality and presentation and faultless service. It's my 4th time having dinner in this restaurant and the quality is always superb. The only less positive point is that the restaurant hasn't got a good sound absorption, it can be noisy to the point where it's annoying

6.5/10The food was great! The sushi was fresh and very well presented. The restaurant needs to work on its service though because there was no one to greet us on arrival, wait staff were only focused on bringing the plates out and not checking on guests so we always had to try and get their attention to ask for anything.

9/10Third time having dinner there. The food quality is remarkable and the service faultless. Not cheap but still a good deal for the quality in my opinion. The only negative point is that the restaurant is a bit noisy, so depending on the discretion -or lack of it- of the other tables it can be annoying

9.5/10We are so happy to have discovered this great gem of a restaurant. The food is amazing, everything we have tried has always been great quality and very well prepared. Ho and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Nanbu has become one of our favorite restaurants in Amsterdam.

9.5/10Probably one of the best japanese restaurant in town. The food is fantastic, french and good looking, with an ample choice. The decoration is really nice, on the classy side. The service is faultless and extremely quick. The only less good aspect is that the walls and materials haven't got a good sound absorption, so depending on the crowd, the level of noise can be borderline unpleasant
