We have been in Emilia Romagna for two weeks and have eaten some amazing meals. Lunch today at this restaurant was right up there with the best. Tortelloni with mushroom sauce and the tortellini with truffles were so good! And the roasted potatoes were delicious!

This is a hidden gem, in a quiet area. The ambiance was great, with clean and spacious dining areas. The food was amazing! Would definitely recommend it!

The resturant interior was nice. The staff knowledgeable and personable. Our starter was good. Our second course - duck was excellent, but COLD ratatouile ? And Scottana beef and potatoes were not good.. The wine was good.

Lovely restaurant and ambience matched by a warm and friendly welcome - so a great start to the evening. It got even better with the food that was fantastic my wife and I had different starters and main courses so we got to see 4 different dishes and all were great tasting and presented really well. Matched with a great bottle of wine. The pace and tempo was also really good they genuinely wanted us in there no rush once finished.

We had a wonderful lunch of regional specialties. The decor and ambience were delightful and the staff very helpful. The food was AMAZING. overall, good value for the price. Highly recommend for a special lunch or dinner. We were entertaining a local so needed it to be good - it did not disappoint.

Our hotel recommended the restaurant and it was an excellent choice. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Waiters were very helpful and attentive. Food was tasty and portions were more than enough.

Large cavernous space. Comfortable chairs. Tortellini 'a Balus' was sublime. Venison medallions were tender and flavorful. Tatare di Manzo with accompaniments fresh and more than adequate portion. Recommend local red wine Galo. Prices reasonable.

We wanted true authentic Bolognese food and we got it! Restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge. It was a romantic and quiet spot. The service was excellent and we felt very comfortable. We ordered wine, tortellini in broth, tagliatelle bolognese and a veal cutlet in a cream sauce. My hubby and and I had bites of each others meals so we can sample a bit of a variety. The broth for the tortellini was so rich and delicious. We both remarked how it tasted like something our grandparents would make. The tagliatelle and bolognese sauce was so flavorful and we both literally cleared every bit of our plates. The veal cutlet had prosciutto layer and a parmesano reggiano cream sauce on top. Absolutely outstanding! Great find in this restaurant. We not only recommend, but happily visit again and again.

The service was good, the waiter was kind and friendly. The food was ok, but I was disappointed because the main picture posted on the web was very different from what actually was. The furniture was different and much nicer on the picture so my expectations were not met.

Unbelievable service by a friendly staff that was helpful. They recommended an amazing bottle of wine ….that we will look for and buy again! Food was unreal. From the Tagliatelle Bolognese Ragu to the Panne Cotta for dessert. It was good from start to finish. Cant stop talki g about how good it was and definitely will return on the next visit. Highly recommend.

The restaurant has a lovely large spacious room with great ambience. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly and attentive.we shared a meat and cheese platter as a starter between two, then had the tortellini and lasagne, both really tasty dishes hot and nicely presented. We finished with a shared panacotta which was also excellent. The wine was also excellent . We thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant.

A Balùs is a real gem. A true taste of Bologna and this wonderful region of Italy. We dined here at the recommendation of our hotel desk manager, and it was so good we went back a second time during a 3-day stay in Bologna. Excellent value. Food was house made (fatto in casa) -- quality ingredients and delicious. Local dishes. Nice choices other than pasta. Loved the atmosphere. Not filled with tourists. Lead servers servers speak good enough English to communicate effectively.

The food was average ! Meat was a little overcooked and food was poor . There was not any touch from cheff ! Waitress forgot us after main course at all :(

Simply the best meal my wife and I have had in Bologna, and we've not had a single bad meal. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly, as soon as we arrived someone asked what our toddler would like to eat and it came much earlier than the other courses to keep her satisfied. The waiter recommended a fantastic wine to go with our meal and the host/manager came to check on us towards the end of our visit. Fantastic from start to finish.

Lasagna was very good with the addition of the egg plant. Venison Tatar could have used a little more seasoning. Mixed grilled vegetables were delicious. Fair pricing!
