4.5/10Not much that could have gone well actually did, unfortunately. Ambiance was cozy… albeit cold and not too comfortable as a result. Several things that should normally be available on a menu in this area weren’t and what was, honestly, resulted prepared with approximation and little care. Appetizer was the result of reuse of stale ingredients, half cold and tasteless, with the exception of salt which seemed to be the only thing used in overly abundance. I did refuse to consume one of the ordered plates outright as it seems to only be made out of salt. Which they, and rightly so, didn’t include in the final bill. I do not know how someone can cook the likes of what we have eaten yesterday evening, unless who cooks is not a professional chef or just doesn’t care what s/he does. I don’t know which is worse. First and last time in this ‘posticino’. I hate to ingest calories for bad food and spend money on it. Get better, please, or change business.

9.5/10Excellent experience all round. The rigatoni carbonara and the slow cooked pork were just amazing. There is a good wine list that is very reasonably priced by American standards. The service was very friendly and welcoming and it gives Al Posticino a homey neighborhood ambiance. The family ownership really makes a difference. Will definitely return (and so will you!)

9/10Food was excellent. Service was OK. For example, the waiter brought out the bottle of wine we ordered. He did show us the bottle to confirm that it was the correct wine, and also so that we could the vintage, which is not provided on the wine list. He opened the wine, placed on the table and left. Usually, you would expect to have a little poured into your glass to taste and confirm that there are no issues with the wine, such as being corked. The wine was fine, but this practice of having to pour your own wine is not a huge issue for us, but somewhat unexpected, It's a practice which is common in Frascati. We still left a tip in recognition of the excellent dishes. Despite that minor issue with the wine, we can highly recommend Al Posticino, and is a must for anyone travelling to Frascati.

9/10Italian food with a little twist. Slightly different from traditional but in a good way. Lasagne was delicious. The restaurant as the kitchen is rather small so you can expect to wait for food especially if you're a larger group. Service was however smooth and professional.

10/10Really enjoyed the blend of traditional and A la carte Roman cuisine. This is a very good restaurant with a friendly Chef and staff, who were all happy to make recommendations. The menu constantly updated to incorporate the produce in season. Recommend for something special however, my kids enjoyed and the price was very good with great quality food.
