6.5/10Although Alla Rampa enjoys one of the most beautiful settings in Rome and is right in the center with a very atmospheric mood, it's food is not the best, pasta is too much "al dente" almost uncooked! pasta sauces were bellow average in taste, clams and muscles weren't of good quality. The atmosphere is beautiful but the food is not good.

8.5/10I didn’t like the idea of adding compulsory tips of almost 10%, and that you have to discuss it to reduce or remove… usually they just mention that service isn’t included and they leave it to you to consider the tips amount

5.5/10Lovely setting for dinner but our service was an abomination ……we waited 15 min before our waiter appeared and took our drink order then demanded we place our food order at the same time … then he disappeared again and we were left with no drinks .... I had to get another waiter to find him …. We had to get silverware from another table …. The food was just ok and the portions were very large ….. the beef carpaccio was enough to feed 3 for an appetizer ….

7/10The food was great, but the service left a lot to be desired. Most of the staff were very unfriendly, or at least not looking friendly. Plates were slapped on the table, and had to ask for oil and pepper. Bread was not free.

7/10The ambiance was lovely, but the service was lacking. There were 3 or 4 waiters who very slowly and irregularly checked on us. The food was average at best. The final disappointment came with the check. We were way overcharged for the food and beverages. Wish we’d taken time to discovery the discrepancy before overpaying.

6/10The suckling ping was excellent. The roast lamb was dry and difficult to chew. Our server was grumpy. When we mentioned in rudimentary Italian that the lamb was hard to chew, he pierced the remaining meat several times to show that it was not hard and that we were wrong. He never came back to us after that to offer dessert or coffee.

3/10I have been to this restaurant five times over the past 10 years, and I noticed some disappointing changes during my recent visit. The prices have increased significantly, and unfortunately, the service staff, who have aged over the years, have become quite rude to customers. It’s disappointing to see the decline in both service quality and overall experience.

10/10The best Cacio e Pepe ever! This made me appreciate what Italian food is all about, it was the highlight of our trip, by far. It was totally worth it, service was detailed and Italian hospitality has it's own unique way of showing they care. It can seem a little pricey but as a special lunch or dinner, definetely worth it!!

5/10The food was ok,except for the chicken parm which was awful; drowning in melted cheese. The servers were borderline rude and certainly un-interested in us since they never asked us whether we were happy or if it was good. Then the head waiter showed me the bill and said it didn't included a tip and asked if it was ok to add an additional $20 euro. We went to another non-named trattoria the night after, got much better food and half the price with much better and attentive service. We'll never go back. And we live around the corner from this restaurant.

10/10My grandfather used to come to alla rampa on every trip to Rome. To be back 20 years later was very special. The service was wonderful and all the food was delicious!

7.5/10The food was quite good all the way around. Excellent pastas, Fritto Misto, etc. While the restaurant is quite nice indoors, We were eating outdoors as most were, due to the beautiful weather. However, their outdoor dining leaves you looking at cars in the adjacent parking lot and listening to a noisy construction site that is just a few meters away. Service was mostly fine, but I took one star off because we ordered a side dish that never arrived.

8/10We always enjoyed visiting Alla Rampa, when traveling in Rome. The food is always excellent, however be prepared to pay extra. Prices have increased dramatically.

Very good cuisine close to Piazza de Spagna, yet in a quiet place with a nice terrace. We had pasta with seafood and grilled calamar, both excellent. Price is a bit over the value but all in all a very nice experience.

3/10We were recommended this restaurant by a local so we were excited for it. However it was easily the worst meal we ate in Rome. The bread was stale. We ordered a Cacio e Pepe and received a carbonara. The pasta arrived within 5 mins of ordering. Clearly reheated. Cacio e Pepe was inedible. Overloaded with pepper and congealed. The bistecca was over cooked - it has clearly been sitting in the kitchen for a while before it was served. The veal with lemon sauce had not been cooked fresh and had been reheated poorly. There was no dressing on the side salad. Another side that was ordered never arrived. When we raised these issues with the waiter he shrugged and argued with me that maybe I didn’t know Italian food. . Clearly the waiter did not own the business. Do not go. You will leave feeling ripped off and hungry. So disappointing.

5/10This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend in Texas. The patio looked very welcoming. We made a reservation., but when we arrived we were ignored at first and then after approaching a waiter, were seated. A long while before we were waited on, and then the food came very quickly. We had to ask for bread 3 times. My pasta Carbonara was sticking together as if overcooked. My husband's pesto pasta wasn't much better.. We had to find a waiter if we needed anything. Then after paying the check ,a waiter commented that the service charge (tip) wasn't included in the bill, so apparently what we left on the table wasn't enough..

5/10When I was there, I paid using the Fork app, and they treated me as if I hadn't paid at all. The food was average; I could make the same or perhaps better at home. The price was too high for the quality of the food. They also put bread on the table that I didn't eat, and they still charged me an extra €3 for it, even though I didn't eat it.

4/10Waiter added dishes to our order that we hadn't asked for, tried to push a 105 euro bottle of wine on us, then added a 70 euro tip for himself, which we didn’t realise until we had paid. Food was very poor too I had the worst lamb chops ever, they had little meat and nearly all gristle and fat. The bill for 4 people was 400 euro without dessert.

Located close to the Spanish steps up from the main square. Good location. Plenty of heated outside seating. Nice ambience inside. Good selection of courses. Some are quite pricey . Helpings are on the large size and good quality food. Lots of waiters shouting at each other to pass on orders. Can be frantic at times. All ads to the eating out experience in Rome. Can be Pushy with topping up bread and then charging when not ordered. Pushy also on the level of tip expectations. Overall a good experience but not the best for a relaxing meal. Great if you are looking for that Italian family eating noisy experience. Worth a try.

The waiters were very rude and the food took more than 45 minutes. A pasta dish (the “specialty” = rigatoni caccio e pepe) arrived with the noodles completely uncooked and we asked to return it because it was uneatable and they included it on the bill. The only nice dish was the bruschettas as a starter. Not recommended.

9/10Very good food, correct service but some waiters are not really friendly. Price is rather high compared to other restaurants with similar dishes. The tip policy at the end was very agressive and the reason not to come back in this restaurant.

5/10Used to est at Alla Rampa in 80s, last night we tried it again for nostalhic reasons. It had become a “had been”. Served the soup and the main course together, when objected to brought the luke warm pasta 15 minutes later. No thank you.
