7.5/10We ate here one evening as it was close to where we were staying. The staff were great with the kids and there were quite a few families in there. We ordered the cataplana to share and the grilled octopus. Sadly the food didn't match the service. The cataplana, despite being full of delicious seafood, was let down by the glutinous salty sauce it was cooked in. We were expecting something thinner with tomato, but this was just so thick and congealed when it got cold. The octopus was also a let down - charred but had a "slimey" texture akin to belly pork. Great staff and ambience but sadly we didn't feel the need to return.

7.5/10Bright and airy, busy for an October Tuesday. Portions are huge, really too much. Even two starters are big, which makes it great value if you are a big eater… or wasteful if you are not. The cooking is simple and correct.

6/10Waiting time is ridiculous. I made a reservation for 2 pm and had to wait 30 minutes for a table. If you allow for bookings then ensure previous guests finish on time. Also, the receptionists were very passive-aggressive about it and could use some attitude training. Cataplana was good, but the Grilled Seafood platter tasted badly. The shrips, clams and fish appeared to be old and reheated

10/10The fish is fresh served and the staff is super available always ready to serve you and to suggest and answer your question. We order the unlimited plate of fish and for real if you finish it they will bring more and more. Super happy with everything I don’t usually leave reviews but they deserve it. I 100% recommend this place. Rarely you’ll find such good fish in a nice location like this one for this price.

8.5/10The quality of the food was excellent. Our only disappointment was the initial speed of service - it was over 45 minutes after ordering before we received our starters and we noticed other tables being served who had arrived after us. However, everything else about the meal was very good.

7/10The restaurant is in a terrific location with a view of the sea. It's on 2 floors and has some outdoor seating as well. The restaurant is plainly decorated. The seafood is generally good as is the service and we experienced both last evening. This was our umteenth visit. It's a restaurant that is dependable for the quality of food and service, so when asked about our dinner by management, we reported the french fries were not particularly edible, they immediately deleted the charge for them from our bill. During the summer tourist season it's difficult to get a reservation, but calling a day ahead makes that problem disappear. We are likely to return to Baia do Peixe as we have done for several years.

10/10The service was great, the shellfish copious and very tasty and the ambience was spot on! I’m glad I don’t live any closer…this place is addictive!
