9/10+3The food was delicious, authentic Indian cuisine. The decor is beautiful. My only complaint was the service. I was expecting a much better service from a restaurant of this caliber. They weren’t attentive if we needed more wine or if we had finished our food and the empty plates stayed on the table longer than necessary. They also took very long to serve the main dish.

10/10Phenomenal. It’s clear why Benares received a Michelin star. Highly recommend to anyone looking for exceptional service, superb ambience, and excellent food. The cocktails, appetizers and Rogan Josh/Butter Chicken were out of this world.

5.5/10Let’s start with the good: the food is ok (quite average compared to the London namesake) and the space is very nice (including an outdoor terrace and swimming pool). However, the rest of the experience was less impressive. When trying to order wine, the maitre (I guess?) was unable to explain any of the wines on the menu. He also told us he couldn’t recommend any, as we were having fish and vegetables. The only solution was to bring us some bottles and we could read the label (!!!!) Also, the male toilets were blocked … although this was remedied after telling the staff. Overall, a very disappointing visit (especially in comparison to Benares London) in terms of food - and plainly unbelievable in terms of wine knowledge and service.

10/10Service was efficient, professional, and clear. The food was excellent, both in value and taste. The chutneys were innovative, though a little too sweet for me. The pappadams were nice. I got the menu ejecutivo, which was astounding value. Having 3 small side dishes (naan, brussels sprouts, vegetables) + 2 carbs (naan, rice) + a curry and a yogurt for 24 euros is exceptional. The curry was incredibly tender and the perfect amount of spice, and the daal was delicious. The rice could have been softer, but I am being nitpicky. I was slightly confused that the dessert was served with the other dishes, but it may have been for the presentation. I wish that a beverage was included with the menu, so in the end, it will be closer to 28€ rather than 24€.

6.5/10The food was great, and it had all the right flavours; however, the place lacked soul and servers were a bit rushed and not really very welcoming. The servers should pay more attention to the table and stop rushing to clean out the table. Just felt a bit cold to say the least.

10/10Unique gastronomic experience with twist of traditional and interesting flavors . Marcos was extremely attentive and well informed about each dish. When he heard we were celebrating a birthday , he went above and beyond to make it a memorable occasion. We highly recommend this place and give it a 5 star rating in all aspects of food, service and ambience !

7.5/10A good indian restaurant but it has lost its creativity. We ate here when the chef Benares was still in charge / involved in the chain and it had a more extensive and creative menu then today. A shame but still a nice and tasty restaurant. We opted for à la carte because the set tasting menu is very extensive.

10/10+1Benares was my choice for my birthday dinner and it was the best choice! The experience started as soon as we entered the restaurant, The staff was very welcoming and made my husband and I feel comfortable. I totally recommend you go for the Menu Degustacion if it's the first time you go, you will not regret it! You may choose to eat on the terrace that has a small pool or inside, with a good space between tables that makes you feel comfortable, both ambiances have excellent decoration. I asked for a table outside because I like terraces but since it was the middle of the Summer and it was a very hot day, we were offered the inside option so we took a table inside but besides the terrace so we could also enjoy the outside view Also, the attention from Phoebe was amazing, she explained each of the items on the menu, a bit of history, and the best way to eat each one, She was very attentive to us the whole time, so she also made the experience amazing <3 I'll definitely go again!

9/10Was excited to try out an Indian place on my visit to Madrid and Benares did not disappoint in ambiance, style and service. ???????? I had the vegetarian lunch Thali and it was OK. Unfortunately, vegetarians menus don’t get much attention, as restaurants mostly focus on the meat eaters in Spain. ????????♀️ Still, it was a quality experience all in all. ⭐️

10/10Everything was exceptional from the food to the service. The moment you walk in you could already tell that the service will be next level. They are extremely attentive without being smothering and made the experience even better than it already was with the food alone. The food was amazing. I got the Thali Ejecutivo and it was a great way to try different savory and sweet dishes from the restaurant. I highly recommend washing down your meal with the mango lassi too!

7.5/10Extremely overpriced for what is "nice food" but the higher the price the higher the expectations and I think a lower price point would be more appropriate. The entrantes were very very good, the desert fenomenal but the curry itself wasn't anything particularly special to warrant such a high price. Service exceptional. Best in a long time. Well done Sergio and Rodolpho for looking after us so well.

6/10Beautiful restaurant and attentive staff but futile attempt at serving Indian food. We ordered the Aloo tiki and Murgh tikka for starters and Chicken biriyani with a side of dal makhani as a main course. Aloo tiki - looked great on the plate but was overly spiced with a very strong taste of garlic and ginger (strange ingredient for an aloo tiki). Murgh tikka - was advertised on the menu as chicken tenders cooked in the tandoor but what was served to us was boneless chicken thighs that had never seen the inside of a tandoor. Looked oven or steam cooked. Chicken Biriyani - I know the majority of Indian restaurants don’t serve biryanis cooked from scratch. It’s normally pulao rice mixed with chicken and some spiced sauce but they can still be tasty if done right. This was not done right! Just lots and lots of fried onions and herbs in a tasteless sauce served with the same chicken used for the murgh tikka, boneless thighs. On top of this it was served warm, not hot. Dal makhani - was bland, like they forgot to give it any sort of tempering (tarka). Garlic Naan bread - naan was good but they charge €5.50 per naan. We have eaten at Benares London and similar modern Indian restaurants and have enjoyed our meals immensely. I wish I could have said the same for Benares Madrid. Obviously Atul Kochhar took his recipes and skills back to London with him. Such a shame for such a setting to serve such bad food.

10/10a more upmarket indian restaurant. We went at lunchtime. Table was ready, with no waiting time. Plenty of space between tables. The Service was excellent throughout. The food was amazing. Maybe on the more expensive side, but definitely would recommend.

9/10This is upscale Indian food. The service was outstanding, friendly, and very attentive. The restaurant is exquisitely appointed with a fancy modern dining room paired with a whimsical garden terrace complete with a massive water feature. We had the executive lunch. Everything was cooked perfectly except that the fish (bacalao) seemed way too salty (however I didn’t not complain to the restaurant and give them a chance to fix it). This is a Michelin rated establishment, so the stakes are higher. I do believe they lived up to their rating.
