We were so happy that we booked our lunch visit in advance; when we arrived, the tiny place was completely full and other potential patrons were being turned away. We had to wait about 10 minutes before a table opened up for us, which was fine. The convenience to Notre Dame and the Saint-Michel area was perfect, but just enough away from the more touristy restaurants that we felt as though we'd found something the locals were enjoying. The specialty is a potato gratin dish that is given various treatments with or without the addition of meat. There are salads, too, but on a cold day we were ready for something hot and satisfying. It's surprising to see so many dishes come out of a tiny kitchen in a timely manner! There's a small but pretty good wine selection, too.

We were warmly welcomed and accommodated, with our bags and coats stored for us so we had more room at our table. The gratins and salads were amazing--simple and delicious. Great wine choices to accompany the meal. As we left, we listened to the bells of Notre Dame ringing. A perfect Parisian evening.

The service, the excellent food and the true ambiance of a French bistro! We’ve been here before and make it a must stop every time we come to Paris which is at least 1-2 times a year!

Overrated bistro. Food of kinds you get anywhere -- toasties, cheese with veg, etc. Good situation by the river but no more than basic decor. Very few locals eating there.

The kitchen is tiny and the menu is small BUT what they produce is excellence! The staff is very friendly and patient with non-native speakers. Best of all is the gratin! Every visit to Paris is incomplete without coming here! Located across from Norte Dame, the view is beautiful! Near many wonderful sights to see!

The restaurant is small and intimate and so cozy. We sat inside close to the door with a view across the street of the beautiful buildings surrounding the Seine. We were there on a chilly September evening and it was perfect. Charming decor, lively French clientele. The food is incredible. And the wine red by the glass as well. We never had gratin dishes before. The chicken gratin and the ham bistro gratin were simply delicious. We savoured every bite. We started with a smoked salmon and Chevre salad which was fresh, simple and delicious. The perfect combination of ingredients. We will definitely return, maybe for our last night here if they can fit us in!

It was a cool little spot off the beaten path. All of our party enjoyed their gratin bowls. I had a salad w/chicken that ended up being a bit of a disappointment. The presentation & taste ended up being just ok.

I've eaten here on each of my last three visits to Paris. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and service was excellent. On a warm day, it's lovely to sit outside. The restaurant is across from the river, and while you can't actually see the river, you can see Notre Dame.
