This place was an absolute gem. It is tiny, not a great deal of signage, but we were welcomed heartily on arrival. Clearly, this is not a place that tourists find regularly. Lots and lots of what appeared to be regular diners there however. The wine list, though not long, was well represented and extremely affordable. We had a great bottle of Pinot Noir. We sampled a couple of the specials as well. The roasted sweetbreads was one of the best sweetbread dishes that I have had, and my daughter’s pork and lamb stew was also extremely good. The soufflé of the day was very well prepared well presented, and my isle flotantewas exceptional. My wife, normally a big sweet consumer, had the basque cheese with House made cherry preserves for dessert and was very happy. Would absolutely go there again and would highly recommend anybody looking for great food in a very traditional setting.

Lovely small restaurant, excellent food and service

A lovely gem of an excellent French restaurant. Delicious food. Friendly service. Not fussy. Small but highly efficient restaurant. I would highly recommend.

Our waiter was charming and so knowledgeable. This is a small, quintessential neighborhood bistro. Excellent food, though the menu is small, and great wines by the glass. Choices are very French so beware, no pasta, no burgers. Salad was delicious and mains flavorful with lots of depth to the sauces.

The food was wonderful and the staff.

The Bistrot Belhara was incredible! The food was so delicious and I savored every bite. I ordered the 4 course chefs tasting menu and everything was fabulous! I loved the Basque influence and this is a new favorite Paris restaurant of mine!

We often dine at Belhara (best leg of veal ever) and our friends (first timers) also loved the food and cool quiet atmosphere!

Impeccable service. Great French food and not too many choices so you know it’s fresh! Very good price to quality ratio! We will be back regularly!

We are Foodies and this was one of the best meals we have had in Paris in a long time! Try it you will like it! :)

Disappointed overall. The food didn’t meet expectations—flavors were underwhelming and not worth the high price. Definitely not great value for money. Wouldn’t recommend.

What a lovely calm dinner after a long bustling day in the city. They started with an amuse buche, tasty and just the right size. We ordered a couple of the basque specials, the corn soup starter was spectacular, super corn flavor. The pork with beans and the chicken with rice were also tasty. We tried three wines, using their tasting option and all were good. The basque wines were the most u usual but the Bordeaux was exceptional. We finished with the basque cheesecake which was served with orange marmalade and was very good. They brought us complimentary madeleines which I usually find boring but these were very good, nutty and buttery. Highly recommend

Everything was really great: the food, the service and the mood. We have been there many times and enjoying it every time.

First, the photo of the restaurant is misleading. There was no table cloth like the photo shown. We thought it might be a fancy restaurant so that dressed up a little, but unnecessary. Food was disappointing. My fish dish was ok but risotto at the bottom had some sort of grain and made the texture discomfort . I ordered chocolate suffle for dessert but it was liquidity insides. My partner ordered pigeon dish, which was disappointing. It was hard and not enough meat. On the other hand, their service was great. They changed silverware every dishes, which is unusual to see in a bistro type of restaurant these days. We had another restaurant in our mind .. but we switched to this restaurant last minute. We regret our decision.

This sweet little restaurant has been one of our best dining experiences on this trip! The food was perfectly cooked, uniquely French, and truly delicious. Our waiter was incredibly skilled at his job, and so welcoming, allowing us to bumble through our French and helping us to choose the best dishes. I cannot eat gluten, and he color coded our order to ensure that no gluten would be present for my meal. We were both very impressed with the quality of the food and the service here! Highly recommend!

Loved this little bistrot. Great atmosphere and excellent service. A great Paris experience.

The service was lovely with terrific accommodation for an American diner. The food was amazing. My husband had the foie gras and i had a broccoli soup with clams for starters and we both had sea bream with vegetables for the main. They were all terrific. Thankfully we ordered the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Sadly, for us, we only ordered one to share. Thinking about how to get back to get one of my own! I’d make it a destination restaurant.

Service not helpful, at time bordering on belligerent. Food very average and not worth the money. Many better options in the area

My best dining experience in Paris. Thierry is a gem. He gave great descriptions of the offerings that evening, his wine suggestions were spot on and he was attentive without being hovering. The food was outstanding but Thierry made sure you had an experience (that is rare in today’s world). Many places in Paris give you great food, not all give you a dining experience. I would definitely say , if you have a chance, do make the effort to go to Bistrot Belhara . You will not regret it.

The food, service and ambience were all excellent! We had the tasting menu along with wine pairings and it was fantastic. We felt welcomed, comfortable and were allowed the time to really enjoy our meal - this would be a regular restaurant for us if we lived in Paris!

We have been going here for 7 years - always a great dinner, Frederick is a wonderful server, and the prixe fixe rates are good. Stroll the Eiffel after dinner. A must-visit place.

We've dined here a couple times now, always with excellent service, enjoyable surroundings, and wonderful food and drink. We will most certainly return.

We've known and loved this restaurant for lunch and dinner. We knew its predecessor, Leo Le Lion, and am delighted that Frederic hasn't lost a scintilla of his sweet charm. The food is perfect; Frederic always suggests the best. We're delighted to see this restaurant thrive.
