7.5/10Black and Blue is a very stylish restaurant. The food is good, but by no means exceptional. The seating is cramped, the tables are small; every inch of floorspace is filled with tables. The waiting staff is young and inexperienced. My bearnaise sauce was just a butter emulsion; no tanginess, no tarragon, and it was cold. My wife's allergy was not well handled. That said, the steak was excellent, and the ambience was great. Would I go again? No; I can only give it 3.5 out of 5.

3/10The decor of this restaurant is lovely and cocktails are delicious but that's where it ends with the positive feedback. The service was awful, Dutch service is relatively slow and laid back but this was next level. We had to remind our waitress for new cutlery, water and when other tables who arrived after us got their main meal, we had to remind her of ours! The tables are extremely tight, which effects the overall ambiance of the restaurant. We didn't stay for dessert as we just wanted to leave at that point. While paying for our meal we were asked how we got on and we informed the lady, who apologized and gave us a discount on our bill. Overall we had high hopes given the reviewed ratings of this restaurant but we left very disappointed and would not recommend this place. Amsterdam full of great restaurants so plenty of others to choose from!

8/10WE booked there with a 50% discount on a Sunday night and they said we had booked the wrong restaurant - another 20 mins away on checking we had not - surprise was they had tables available but no discount. A bit of a con but good food - they were a bit disorganised as several couples were turned away the there was several tables available - not sure about this chain- but lovely young people working from them- maybe it needs to be better organised. ,

5.5/10What a shame. Food was amazing, the service was shocking, laughable. Really didn’t feel like a valued customer, more a spare part. Such a shame.

10/10This was our first night of a surprise birthday trip for my husband and I was very pleased with my choice of restaurant. The restaurant was very busy for a mid week night but the service was efficient and friendly in spite of being so crowded. Excellent cocktails and superb rib eye steak.

6.5/10Unfortunately our visit was disappointing. The service wasn’t very attentive. Out steak was undercooked and the server wasn’t even apologetic. It was an expensive meal and the quality/service didn’t match the price. The scallop appetizer was excellent!

10/10Everything in this restaurant is outstanding. The staff is really friendly and we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a Spanish speaker host. The food is well presented in generous portions and really good.

10/10This spot was in a nice location, was nicely appointed, and the food and service were great. We all had focaccia sandwiches from the lunch menu. We also had sides of bread and fries, which were excellent.

10/10The ambience is absolutely spectacular. All the attention detail is just stunning. Our table was cozy and had beautiful views of the restaurant. All of the waiters were kind and helpful. And our food was excellent and extremely speedy.

6.5/10The food was very good, but not the sauces that accompanied the meat, which tasted like they were bought rather than homemade. The service was very friendly, but not personal, and we were served by four different people, which made everything seem too hectic.

2/10We arrived prior to our reservation only to be told they were "overbooked ", we were then pushed into a corner by the front door where many people stood waiting to enter the restaurant. Very dissatisfied. Sad to be treated this way.
