9/10I doubt one can find a place with a better value for money in Torino. The waiter was also incredibly nice!

9/10+1Bontà da Re isn’t the biggest or fanciest looking restaurant, but for an unassuming spot they offer an intriguing, but I’d been intrigued menu — lots of interesting of choices as well and handmade pasta. The antipasto of a tris of seafood that featured swordfish, salmon and shrimp bathed in a cocktail sauce got our meal off nicely. All the seafood was fresh and nicely prepped. My wife was eager to try the tagliatelle with a pesto of pistacchio and salmon tartare (that was one of the selections I’d noticed on the menu when I picked the spot). I was just going to go for a secondo but when I saw the handmade spaghetti alla carbonara I selected that. Both were quite nicely cooked al dente and plenty of egg leaving some to sop up with the warm bread they served. I still selected a secondo, but for the two of us to split. It was a grigliata of three meats: sausage, hamburger and pork shoulder (along with potatoes, All the meats were nicely grilled and you could sense the quality of everything used through ever dish we enjoyed. And just to satisfy one more curiosity I ordered a dessert al cucchiaio (to eat with a spoon) to share with my bride: mascarpone with chocolate bits and crumble of pan di stelle cookies. A sweet finish. The service was attentive and friendly, the prices were very reasonable and it was nice to have a chance to try out this little spot.

8.5/10Great little place, right by the university district. Outside seating with very kind waiter/owner. You can see he really cares for his clients. Had a great meal at a very very competitive price. "Casereccio" / Homemade feeling.
