The rustic, historical ambience was truly something memorable, but the food and service were unremarkable. This is a place to visit once, but I have checked it off the list and won’t return.

Suckling pig, garlic soup, cheese cake and sangria are all very impressive. One of the most satisfying meal we had in Spain. Can't wait for our next trip to Spain and visit Botin one more time.

I arrived about 2.5 hours early for my reservation and they were unable to accommodate me at that time, About 45 minutes before my reservation the Host came out to let me know he had a table for me. Do not miss the roast suckling pig or the cheesecake.

We booked a late afternoon lunch and were afraid it would be empty that time of day. We are so glad we did. It is a beautiful building. I had the roasted suckling pig and it was fantastic. The salad and the gazpacho was crisp and refreshing. Would definitely recommend!

Although this restaurant is very touristy, it is still an exceptional experience and the food and wine is still, after 300 years, fantastic. Book well in advance and have a fabulous time.

Extraordinarily tender and flavorful spring lamb and suckling pig. Because it's so good, it's a very popular restaurant so the ambience is a little hectic. I'd still go again in a heartbeat.

The senior manager was very gracious. Our reservation was for 11:15 pm. I walked in around 9:30 to see if we could get an earlier table. He told me to come back in an hour and sure enough they were able to sit us earlier. I was very impressed because they certainly remembered us and got us a very nice table. Service was superb and food (roast suckling pig was what we came for but we also ordered chicken fricasse, and the cheesecake was out of this world) was definitely outstanding. I suggest reserving way in advance to be able to get a table. Worth our second trip to Madrid!

The architecture was interesting as it opened in 1725. We had 8p reservations ( dont try to come here without) and waited in line for the doors to open. It was very loud and bright, and I felt pushed to get an initial order in. The staff were very busy as everyone was let in at once. Menu looked good but food was just OK.

More tourist attraction than restaurant in spite of its history? Food unremarkable - including the famed suckling pig. Very noisy and quite cramped. Pricey for quite ordinary food. You have, however, to congratulate them on their marketing.

The maitre d found us a table even we came in a bit early thank you. The suckling pig was a bit dry on areas. The mixed vegetables was overcooked. The sirloin & fillet steak were just ok. The place was packed by as many tables as they can so you can hardly move in your seat. The sangria pitcher was very nice though. The food was average but our time as a family was great.

We had reservations so there was no wait, but you can’t choose where to be seated. Most of the staff don’t speak much English, which made ordering a little challenging. We tried the famous cochinillo—unfortunately, it was just okay. The meat was a bit bland, not served hot, the skin wasn’t crispy, and we were given a less appetizing cut of the pig. My partner was celebrating her birthday, but nothing special was done for the occasion, which was disappointing given the reputation. The highlight of the meal was definitely the cheesecake—honestly one of the best we had in Madrid!

The restaurant is an experience not to be missed. It's very traditional with proper classic service. The food was delicious and the cocktail was a nice a compliment. Being the oldest restaurant in the world also adds to the experience with it's styling and setup unchanged for years. Absolutely loved it

Aside from being an old restaurant, there was nothing good about this place except for the suckling pig (it was ok), but for the price I wish I saved my money. The rest of the food was genuinely the worst food I’ve had at a restaurant. Everything tasted like it came from a can.
