4/10The area where our table was located felt hot and uncomfortable. The table itself was small and cramped, and we found the food to be below our expectations. Considering the price we paid, we had hoped for better quality.

6.5/10Considering it is the world’s oldest restaurant it is only surviving because of that - any normal restaurant serving that quality of food and service would have closed many years ago . That doesn’t mean it was all bad , like so many other customers you go for the experience and I have done it - would I ever go back , certainly not . Service was rushed , the waiter never smiled until I gave him a tip and whilst I have never eaten suckling pig before it seemed tasty but to just serve it with two overdone boiled potatoes was in my opinion shocking . Tiramisu was very good , I was shocked however when I nearly lost a tooth as it contained nuts of all things! My wife said that it was the first time that she had a lemon sorbet ready to drink . I would say don’t be put off , go there knowing that you will be rushed through , having eaten average food but still like many, you can tell your friends how wonderful it was to have eaten in the worlds oldest restaurant

8/10“I found the service a bit rushed. The waiters keep pushing you to eat and order quickly, which gives the feeling that they don’t want you to stay at the table for too long. Other than that, everything was great!”

4/10While it’s undeniably cool to step inside the world’s oldest restaurant, the food was terrible and the service was average.

10/10The location is in the middle of old town madrid within walking distance to many points of interests. This restaurant celebrated its 300th birthday last year so we were appropriately led up to a 3rd or 4th floor on narrow winding stairs, but the seating area itself was bright with window. The vegetables with ham side dish is very impressive, with light olive oil and very good seasoning. The roasted suckling pig was on almost every table and it's good. We also had steak and fried schnitzel (veal steak) which were good. we ordered cream bulee and some other cake less impressive, the caramel was the thickest but still crispy that I've ever had. The waiter offered to take table pictures for us. Overall a very good experience and highly recommended.

4.5/10Perhaps we had high expectations. Vegies were over cooked, food was average. It would have been nice to weave a little more of their history into the dining experience. Overall, overpriced for what it was. Sorry - this was just the experience of our group.

2/10What a tourist trap! Terrible all around. Food is below average for European standards. Service was absent - I was not even asked how I would like my meat prepared. World famous suckling pig was very mediocre. This please was superb 22 years ago when I visited it. Now it’s a waist of your time and money.

8/10The experience at Botin was as special as the historical location itself. However, the experience of being asked for a tip at the final payment was somewhat unpleasant. I didn't feel like I received any particularly special or friendly service from the staff, yet they blatantly handed me the card machine and told me to select a tip 10% 15%. This isn't USA, is it?! Of course, I didn't pay a tip. Experiencing my first and last tip request during my trip to Spain at Botín left me feeling rather sour as I walked out of the restaurant. Nevertheless, I recommend visiting Botin at least once.

9.5/10Our wait staff was excellent, as well as the delicious food we ordered, the succulent pig and garlic shrimp. It was my birthday and he brought out a delicious dessert with candles and even sang. It was a relaxing experience. The only complaints is my friend is on O2 and used a scooter, there was not accessibility and she did have a difficult time leaving up the flight of stairs from the basement level. The hostess was also a bit curt in his greeting when we arrived, not welcoming at all. However as I stated the wait staff were outstanding.

7/10Food are okay . Particularly the crispy pig and lamb. Service is so so. The band performed 2-3 times and standing there ask more and more tips. Only the best part is the cheese cake. Water and bread are not free.

5.5/10Food was overpriced, suckling pig was a lot of fat and bone and flavorless, lamb was worse. Food was average at best and service acted as if they were doing us a favor. Highlight was the cheesecake, but definitely not worth the money.

8/10This is the third time we have been here. The cochinillo is always good and my husbands was great. However, I was in the mood for something different so I tried the filet. It was not great. Way undercooked and just not a great choice of meat. Appetizers- croquettes and morcilla were great. Desert- best cheesecake I’ve ever had! However, because I don’t really love the heaviness of the cochinillo and the steak wasn’t great IDK that I will go back again. But good for the first time in Madrid

6.5/10Food is average, service is good and ambience is seems to be average too. You will get a good service however the food and ambience is something that you could get in another restaurant in Madrid. They charge you for everything including bread and butter or olive oil if you wan it. Will not come back

5.5/10While the experience and historical significance were worth a single visit, the food was underwhelming and the service felt robotic. Throughout the meal, it seemed as though the server was minimizing interaction and effort, creating the impression that I was being rushed out. Overall, it was very much a “turn-and-burn” experience.

7.5/10The suckling pig is wonderful. Not as juicy as before but the skin was still crispy. Service felt like they were doing you a favor. A little too aggressive asking for a tip when they brought the bill. Great to say we went there once but doubt we will go back unless we have tourists visiting with us.

10/10The food was amazing and did not disappoint. Not the most aesthetically looking place, but then again it’s 300 years old - it has character and history!
