8.5/10Beautiful restaurant with lots of history. We dined downstairs which is the best area. Food was delicious but the service was subpar. Waiter was rude. Not a glimpse of a smile. Poor interaction with customer.

10/10The sizzling pork was delicious with crispy skin and juicy meat. It paired perfectly with the best Sangria I had in Spain.

6.5/10Superb service, cochinillo(SUCKLING PORK) is over-rated, any Cuban restaurant would produce a tastier roasted pork, same for the croquetas. 4 for 10 Euros for mediocre croquetas. Cheesecake was amazing, best ever! We are happy that we went, but food did not live up to the hype.

3/10+1Worst suckling pig ever. Very narrow space full of people. Food is a bit expensive and low quality. Would not recommend to anyone.

3/10My experience at Botín was very disappointing. The waiter kept trying to take my plate even though I was still eating which made me feel rushed and uncomfortable. He also added a tip to my bill without asking me. The tip was more than 10% and I was not informed beforehand. Because of this, the first payment had to be cancelled. They told me they would process a refund, and I had to pay again for the correct amount. It was a hassle on my part. Given the poor service, I would not have chosen to leave a tip anyway. When I asked to speak to the manager, that was when he started speaking in Spanish and said they would process the refund. Lastly, they did not allow me to pay through TheFork app even though I made my reservation through it.

10/10The staff are just lovely, talkative. It is family-owned and has been going for generations, obviously, as it is the oldest restaurant in the world, and that in itself is just the most unique experience. You get to take menus home, and they want you to have a pleasant experience and so on, and they really express that. Being open to wheelchairs just makes it easier for them to accommodate when booking by telling them that it is an option, which is awesome. They have musicians from the university come and play for you in Spanish. The whole experience, the food and the wine cellar are just to die for.

9/10We were seated in the “basement”, and the ambiance was amazing, transporting us back into the historic atmosphere of the structure. Service was attentive, and the suckling pig was was delicious. The only negative being the veal cutlet being overcooked, making it both very dry and tough. A once in a lifetime experience, not to be missed.

4/10The area where our table was located felt hot and uncomfortable. The table itself was small and cramped, and we found the food to be below our expectations. Considering the price we paid, we had hoped for better quality.

6.5/10Considering it is the world’s oldest restaurant it is only surviving because of that - any normal restaurant serving that quality of food and service would have closed many years ago . That doesn’t mean it was all bad , like so many other customers you go for the experience and I have done it - would I ever go back , certainly not . Service was rushed , the waiter never smiled until I gave him a tip and whilst I have never eaten suckling pig before it seemed tasty but to just serve it with two overdone boiled potatoes was in my opinion shocking . Tiramisu was very good , I was shocked however when I nearly lost a tooth as it contained nuts of all things! My wife said that it was the first time that she had a lemon sorbet ready to drink . I would say don’t be put off , go there knowing that you will be rushed through , having eaten average food but still like many, you can tell your friends how wonderful it was to have eaten in the worlds oldest restaurant
