I used to come a lot. I am not a fan of sitting in the basement. I rather be upstairs

The leg of lamb was one of the best ever.

It’s the oldest restaurant in the world, so you have to go so you can say you ate there. However it’s not that good. Food and service are ok, nothing to brag about. They do have a really good authentic Spanish “cheese cake” that you have to try but at the end of the day that’s about it. Glad we went, so we can check it off our bucket list but I would never go back.

This is my personal opinion. Baby pork and baby lamb have an odd taste. It was even harder to eat without any sauce. The server was friendly, but clunky and rough. Is 300 years old enough? I won't recommend it or visit again.

The service and the shrimp in the appetizer were really good. The suckling pig was a huge disappointment. It was tough as could be. We had been there about eight hours earlier and all the little pigs were cooked sitting on the shelf from the bottom so you’re just eating the leftovers.

The food was delish. But think they were so busy, we had to ask for wine 4 times. The good food made up for it. They also split up the food for us in separate plates which we really appreciated. The place was packed and would definitely go back.

The atmosphere was so quaint anc loved the old world feel. The wait service was excellent and the food even better. Thank you so much for a great dining experience!!

The server was a dick And the food was...not so good as well. We didn't think it was the worst food ever but it was very much over hyped.

It just so happens that the oldest restaurant in the world is also the greatest restaurant in the world when it comes to overall service, setting, and food quality.

The service was good but we definitely felt rushed a little. The food was mediocre at best and overpriced. Overall I’d say you come here to say you ate at the oldest restaurant in the world, not much else.

We ordered the set menu, which included the suckling pig, soup, wine, and dessert. We thought the suckling pig was overwhelming, which will make you feel full! We thought it was the highlight, but actually it's their cheesecake, and it's creamy and not too sweet, so it's just perfect to end the dinner! We also ordered the mixed seafood, which was tasty!

The pig was uniquely crunchy and moist. Service was excellent. Tour to the wine cellar was a highlight!

i ended up being sat in the basement next to the wine cellar and felt thoroughly lucky to enjoy the ambience of the room. the service was excellent and friendly and prompt and the food was simple (i ordered the suckling pig for its reknown and authenticity) and absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous.

A group of friends on their visit to Madrid and celebrating significant birthdays. Thoroughly enjoyed the food which was excellent and the waiters were attentive and helpful with our limited Spanish. Of course they spoke English! Would recommend the suckling pig and the baby lamb. The salad BOTIN and the Russian salad. We also added mixed vegetables and green beans. The house white wine was good and we had a bottle of really good red wine as well. Didn’t have room for dessert.
