The maitre d found us a table even we came in a bit early thank you. The suckling pig was a bit dry on areas. The mixed vegetables was overcooked. The sirloin & fillet steak were just ok. The place was packed by as many tables as they can so you can hardly move in your seat. The sangria pitcher was very nice though. The food was average but our time as a family was great.

We had reservations so there was no wait, but you can’t choose where to be seated. Most of the staff don’t speak much English, which made ordering a little challenging. We tried the famous cochinillo—unfortunately, it was just okay. The meat was a bit bland, not served hot, the skin wasn’t crispy, and we were given a less appetizing cut of the pig. My partner was celebrating her birthday, but nothing special was done for the occasion, which was disappointing given the reputation. The highlight of the meal was definitely the cheesecake—honestly one of the best we had in Madrid!

It was a pleasant surprise to be seated in the basement/cellar room! It was a surreal experience! Food was awesome and great! Im definitely recommending it! The Wait staff were courteous!

The restaurant is an experience not to be missed. It's very traditional with proper classic service. The food was delicious and the cocktail was a nice a compliment. Being the oldest restaurant in the world also adds to the experience with it's styling and setup unchanged for years. Absolutely loved it

Aside from being an old restaurant, there was nothing good about this place except for the suckling pig (it was ok), but for the price I wish I saved my money. The rest of the food was genuinely the worst food I’ve had at a restaurant. Everything tasted like it came from a can.

First and foremost...you need to make a reservation(which is right) "we made a reservation at around 10.30am,they asked for a credit card,and an email received says that I have time to cancel the reservation till 10am🤨. If I cancel after 10am an amount of 25€ per person would be charged from the credit card. When we arrived at the restaurant the maitre welcomed us and told us to go on the 3rd floor(directing us unpolitedly). The waiter that served us too!!bFood was good but not exceptional. Not worth it. Pricey!!! I would not recommend this place to a friend. Unfortunately I discovered places much better than this too late

The ambiance, service, food and wine quality were remarkable. This restaurant is a must stop whenever in Madrid. I recommend the lunch service in particular as truly standing out relative to other lunch options.

It is ran like a factory. Everything is premaid before they open their doors at 8pm and everyone goes in at the same time and is served at the same time. The entire experience was impersonal and disappointing!
