9/10Eating at Casa Botín in Madrid is an expensive experience. The suckling pig was delicious, eventhough a small portion and overpriced. The ambiance is very special, knowing that you are eating in what is called the world's oldest restaurant.

8/10This was certainly a unique dining experience which led us on a delightful walk though the heart of Madrid, strolling from the Prado to Botín. We passed along gorgeous streets lined with trees then a long uphill climb on narrow streets filled with tourists and locals out for weekend pleasures. We found ourselves in Plaza Mayor people watching then on to a late lunch - an early dinner for us. We arrived early and were seated immediately on the second floor of the restaurant, which was a delightful warren of rooms for dining and service. Two of us ordered the prix fixe menu including roasted suckling pig, wine, dessert, etc. Two ordered filet mignon and potatoes, cooked perfectly and the culinary highlight, along with gooey cheesecake. The pig, though tasty, was very difficult to cut and eat. The mixed vegetables served along with the steaks were cold, flavorless, and may have been left sitting too long. Overall, a good vacation memory. Service A+

10/10The food is spectacular. They take pride in the quality of the food they serve and especially the presentation is perfect. The atmosphere can not be compared to anywhere else. 300 years old. WOW! We had the veal and the Suckling pig. Delicious!!!

2.5/10Terrible food: had roasted sucking pig, totally tasteless and uncooked, meat still bloody/pink inside. Even more terrible waiters. Tourist trap at it’s finest.

7/10The food really isn't anything special. You're there for the history and ambiance mostly. One and done. Won't need to revisit.

6.5/10The Lechon from the Philippines beats this by miles. The skin was not as crispy and the meat lacked seasoning but they did put enough salt on it. If it weren’t for the ambience Botin could have scored lower. Phil R. does not know pork!!! Maybe they did the best job for him. I would not recommend coming here again except for the bragging rights of eating in the oldest restaurant in the world.

8.5/10Interesting experience. We were not expecting sophisticated cuisine but rather something more classic, and we were not disappointed, the food was excellent. Service was exceptionnal. Interior decor in a very old building is fantastic. Ambiance was good, but the tables are close by and it was very noisy with extremely loud customers sitting a few meters from us. Also, the restaurant charged my credit card twice. I opened a challenge with my credit card company, hoping I will be able to get a refund. Overall no fancy cuisine but it is something nonehteless to put on your list of things to experience *once* in Madrid.

10/10I found the cuisine excellent and the service was very attentive and considerate. I had the garlic soup the Rioja wine all excellently complementing each other. My awareness of the historical and cultural aspects of the restaurant and the celebrities that have visited it enhanced its ambience. And then I found the pricing contributing to a fine cost value proposition.
